Summary

This GCC-spec SUV represents the most balanced entry point into the legendary 300-series generation, offering the ideal mix of modern engineering and proven reliability. Finished in the most desirable color for the region, it ensures maximum heat reflection during the summer months and commands the highest possible resale value in the local market. The mileage is perfectly aligned with the average annual usage for the GCC, indicating it has been used primarily for the long-distance highway commutes it was built to handle with ease. This trim provides all the essential off-road hardware required for weekend adventures while maintaining a comfortable, tech-focused cabin for daily family duties. It is arguably the safest investment a buyer can make in the UAE used car market today, thanks to the massive regional support network. This vehicle stands out as a sensible choice for those who want the prestige and capability of a new-generation flagship without the extreme premium of higher-grade trims.

This Car vs Other 2022 Land Cruisers

With approximately 92,000 km on the odometer, this vehicle sits comfortably within the typical range for a two-year-old vehicle in the GCC, where 45,000 km per year is common for regional commuters. This usage indicates the engine and transmission have been regularly cycled, preventing the seal and gasket issues often found in low-mileage examples that sit idle in the heat. The white exterior is the gold standard for the UAE and Saudi markets, significantly aiding in resale speed and value retention compared to darker shades. As a GCC-spec model, it features the heavy-duty cooling radiators and specialized air filtration systems required to handle the region's dust and extreme temperatures. Buyers will find this specific unit offers a rare combination of modern 300-series styling and the reliable 4.0L V6 powertrain that regional mechanics know inside and out. It has clearly been maintained as a reliable daily driver across the Emirates.

EXR vs Lower Trims

The EXR trim serves as the critical bridge between the utilitarian entry models and the luxury-focused high grades, offering several features that are highly prized by UAE buyers. While lower versions focus on basic transport, this trim introduces key aesthetic and functional upgrades like larger alloy wheels and integrated fog lamps that define its premium stance on the road. Inside, the cabin is upgraded with a more sophisticated infotainment interface that includes smartphone integration, reflecting the needs of the modern GCC driver. It also retains the essential cool box in the center console, an absolute necessity for staying hydrated during cross-country drives in the summer heat. Unlike base trims, this model often includes enhanced parking sensors and a high-resolution camera system, making it much easier to navigate tight mall parking structures in Dubai or Riyadh. It strikes the perfect balance by providing luxury touches without the complexity of the adaptive suspension systems found in higher trims.

Land Cruiser vs Segment Rivals

When compared to rivals like the Nissan Patrol or the Chevrolet Tahoe, this model leads the way in terms of mechanical simplicity and long-term resale stability. Its full-time four-wheel-drive system is engineered to last decades rather than years, a claim few competitors in the SUV segment can realistically replicate. The 4.0L V6 provides a linear power delivery that is particularly effective when navigating soft sand, where turbocharged rivals can sometimes feel unpredictable. It also boasts a superior approach and departure angle compared to American rivals, making it much more capable for those who enjoy visiting the Moreeb Dune or exploring the Hatta mountains. The cooling efficiency of the Toyota AC system remains the benchmark for the segment, outperforming European competitors that often struggle with the humidity and 45-degree peaks of the Arabian Peninsula. Furthermore, the availability of 7 seats with a fold-flat third row gives it a versatility advantage for large families.

Running Costs & Resale

Ownership costs for this 4.0L V6 are remarkably predictable, as the naturally aspirated engine avoids the high maintenance costs associated with complex turbo systems. On the highway between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, buyers can expect efficient cruising, while city fuel consumption remains competitive for a vehicle of this size. Toyota’s authorized service network is the most expansive in the region, with professional centers available in every major city from Kuwait to Muscat, ensuring genuine parts are always accessible. This model traditionally sees the lowest depreciation rate in the GCC, often losing only 8-10% of its value annually, whereas luxury European SUVs can lose up to 18%. After three years of ownership, this vehicle is likely to retain a significantly higher percentage of its initial purchase price than almost any other car on the road. The use of standard petrol grades further simplifies daily operation, making it a stress-free vehicle to own for the long term.

Performance & Capability

The heart of this SUV is its 4.0-liter V6 engine, which provides the reliable torque needed for both heavy-duty towing and steep desert inclines. It is paired with an incredibly smooth 6-speed automatic transmission that is tuned for the high speeds of the E11 highway, allowing for comfortable, vibration-free cruising. The genuine four-wheel-drive system includes a low-range transfer case, transforming it from a city cruiser into a mountain explorer at the turn of a dial. With exceptional ground clearance and a reinforced chassis, it can handle rough gravel tracks and deep sand without breaking a sweat. Beyond off-road prowess, the towing capacity is class-leading, easily managing boat trailers or horse boxes for weekend excursions. The suspension is specifically tuned to soak up road imperfections, providing a cushioned ride that minimizes fatigue during 500-kilometer cross-border road trips.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the 7-seat layout is designed with family ergonomics in mind, featuring high-quality materials that are built to withstand the rigorous GCC climate without fading or cracking. The air conditioning system is world-class, featuring multiple zones and powerful rear vents to ensure that passengers in the third row stay as cool as those in the front. Cabin insulation has been significantly improved in this generation, drastically reducing wind noise during high-speed highway travel for a quieter, more executive feel. The driver enjoys an elevated seating position with excellent visibility, which is essential for safely navigating the fast-moving traffic of the UAE's multi-lane roads. Storage is abundant throughout the interior, with plenty of cup holders and a spacious boot that can be expanded by stowing the rear seats. It is an environment designed to be a sanctuary from the outside heat, providing a relaxed atmosphere for both school runs and international journeys.

Safety

Safety is paramount in this 2022 model, which comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of active safety technologies designed for the unique challenges of regional driving. Stability and traction control systems are standard, providing vital assistance when moving from paved roads to gravel or sand. The braking system is reinforced to handle the weight of seven passengers plus cargo, ensuring short stopping distances even in high-speed situations. It features multiple airbags throughout the cabin, including curtain bags that protect all three rows of seating. For long desert highway drives, the cruise control and lane departure warnings act as a vigilant second set of eyes, reducing driver fatigue. This vehicle has earned a 5-star safety rating, giving owners total peace of mind that their family is protected by one of the strongest safety cages in the SUV segment.

The bottom line

This is the ideal purchase for a pragmatic buyer who wants the status and incredible resale value of the latest 300-series Land Cruiser with the mechanical reliability of the proven 4.0L V6. It is a turn-key solution for any GCC family looking for a vehicle that is as comfortable on the school run as it is on a cross-country expedition.
