Summary

This Land Cruiser 300 Series represents a strategic entry point into the legendary LC300 lineup, pairing the high-torque diesel V6 with the essential hardware that defines the model's prestige. With mileage tracking just under the typical GCC annual average for a highway-heavy workhorse, it offers a well-settled mechanical profile ready for another decade of service. The white exterior is the regional gold standard, ensuring the highest possible liquidity and heat deflection for summer driving. As a diesel GCC-spec model, it stands apart from petrol-heavy city listings by offering massive cruising range and superior low-end pulling power. This is the definitive choice for a buyer who values the LC300's structural integrity and regional serviceability above all else.

This Car vs Other 2022 Land Cruisers

With 89,000 km, this vehicle has been driven slightly less than the typical 25,000 km annual average for Land Cruisers in the GCC, suggesting a life largely spent on highways rather than punishing city traffic. The white exterior is the most sought-after color in the local used market, maintaining a significant price premium and faster resale time compared to darker alternatives. As the first full production year of the 300 Series, this unit benefits from the all-new TNGA-F platform while having its early software updates already completed.

GXR vs Lower Trims

The GXR trim provides the essential step-up GCC buyers demand, adding the versatile seven-seat configuration and Multi-Terrain Select (MTS) systems that are absent on base GX models. It moves beyond the utilitarian entry trims by introducing higher-quality interior finishes and enhanced climate controls suited for the regional heat. Crucially, the GXR retains the heavy-duty mechanical foundations of the top-tier trims, like the 10-speed automatic, without the added complexity of electronic kinetic suspensions found in the VXR.

Land Cruiser vs Segment Rivals

Against the Nissan Patrol Y62 and the Land Rover Defender, the Land Cruiser leads in total fuel capacity with its 110-litre tank, providing a clear advantage for long-distance cross-border drives. Its diesel powertrain offers 700 Nm of torque, comfortably out-muscling the naturally aspirated petrol rivals for towing and sand-crossing. Furthermore, the Land Cruiser occupies a unique position in the GCC due to a parts network that extends even into the most remote regional service centers.

Running Costs & Resale

The 3.3L twin-turbo diesel averages approximately 8.9L/100km on a combined cycle, though real-world GCC highway cruising at 120 km/h typically sees efficiency around 9.5L/100km. Service intervals are strictly every 10,000 km at authorized Al Futtaim or Abdullah Hashim centers, ensuring the specialized twin-turbo components are maintained for the 500,000 km lifespan these vehicles are known for. Resale value remains the highest in the SUV segment, typically depreciating at just 8-10% annually compared to 15% for European luxury rivals.

Performance & Capability

The 700 Nm of peak torque is available from just 1,600 rpm, allowing for effortless highway overtaking and steady momentum in soft sand dunes. Its body-on-frame construction is paired with 235 mm of ground clearance and a 700 mm wading depth, making it mechanically over-engineered for standard GCC conditions. The selectable drive modes and center differential lock ensure that despite its size, the LC300 remains the benchmark for off-road reliability in the Liwa and Moreeb regions.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the seven-seat layout is supported by a powerful multi-zone air conditioning system designed to maintain 22°C even when exterior temperatures exceed 45°C. The cabin features dedicated rear cooling vents and high-density insulation that significantly reduces wind noise during long Dubai-to-Riyadh highway stints. For technology, the GXR includes a centered display with integrated smartphone connectivity and a layout optimized for high-visibility during bright daylight driving.

Safety

Standard safety equipment includes 10 airbags and Toyota's latest stability control suite, specifically tuned for mixed sand and asphalt surfaces. The GXR also features front and rear parking sensors and a high-definition reversing camera to assist with the vehicle's large footprint in urban environments. Advanced systems such as blind-spot monitoring and radar-based cruise control provide essential support during high-speed highway transit, ensuring maximum peace of mind for family travel across the Emirates.

The bottom line

For the GCC buyer who needs the power of the 300 Series diesel without the luxury markup of a VXR, this GXR represents the best-retained value in the current market. It is a mechanically sound, region-spec workhorse that is just as relevant at a business lunch as it is on a weekend desert expedition.
