Summary

This 2023 Bentley Bentayga S represents a rare opportunity to acquire a virtually brand-new ultra-luxury SUV with mileage that is significantly below the typical GCC annual average of 25,000 km. The S trim is the driver-focused sweet spot of the range, offering a more aggressive aesthetic and a sport-tuned suspension that handles the long, sweeping highways of the UAE with unparalleled composure. While many luxury SUVs focus solely on soft comfort, this model balances that with a 542 hp V8 that delivers an evocative soundtrack and effortless overtaking power. The Grey exterior is a highly sophisticated choice that maintains strong resale appeal in the regional market, performing well under the intense Gulf sun compared to darker shades. For a buyer looking to bypass the lengthy wait times for a bespoke order while still securing a vehicle in showroom condition, this European-spec example offers an immediate path to elite ownership. The most critical consideration for a GCC buyer is the immense cooling capacity and cabin insulation, which ensure that even during 50°C summers, the interior remains a serene, chilled sanctuary.

This Car vs Other 2023 Bentaygas

When looking at the pre-owned market for 2023 models, this specific vehicle is an outlier due to its extremely low odometer reading of just 300 km. In the GCC, where residents often commute long distances between emirates or cities like Riyadh and Dammam, a one-year-old car typically carries 20,000 km or more. Choosing a car with delivery-mileage status means you are effectively the first real user, benefiting from the full integrity of the mechanical components and the pristine state of the interior leather. The Grey finish is particularly well-suited for the region as it hides the fine desert dust better than black while retaining a more premium executive look than standard white. This European-spec model comes highly optioned, often featuring interior combinations that were prioritized for international showrooms, making it stand out from local dealer-spec cars that may follow more conservative configurations. It offers the exact same mechanical powerhouse as a GCC-spec equivalent, ensuring it is fully capable of handling high-speed cruising in the regional climate.

S vs Lower Trims

The S trim is a significant step up from the standard V8 model, specifically engineered for those who enjoy the act of driving as much as the luxury of being driven. It introduces the Bentley Dynamic Ride system as standard, a 48V active anti-roll control technology that is essential for maintaining flat cornering on mountain roads like Jebel Jais or during quick lane changes on the E11. Visually, the S trim replaces bright chrome with a 'Blackline' specification, giving the SUV a more contemporary and assertive presence that is highly coveted by younger buyers in the Dubai and Doha markets. Inside, you will find unique Alcantara elements and S-specific stitching that aren't available on the base trim, creating a cabin environment that feels more like a high-end sports car than a traditional utility vehicle. Furthermore, the S features a re-calibrated Sport mode that sharpens the throttle response and firms up the steering, providing a much more connected feel than the softer, more comfort-oriented base models. It also comes standard with the sports exhaust, ensuring the hand-built V8 provides a deeper, more satisfying growl when accelerating away from city traffic.

Bentayga vs Segment Rivals

In the hyper-competitive world of luxury SUVs, the Bentayga S competes directly with the Rolls-Royce Cullinan, the Lamborghini Urus, and the Range Rover SV. While the Urus focuses on raw track performance and the Cullinan on ultimate isolation, the Bentley occupies the perfect middle ground, offering a level of hand-crafted interior detail that exceeds the Range Rover while remaining more agile and easier to park than the Rolls-Royce. Its 85-litre fuel tank is a massive advantage for cross-border travel across the GCC, allowing for long stints between refueling stops on the way to Salalah or through the Saudi desert. The cabin's air conditioning system is widely regarded as one of the most powerful in the world, capable of dropping the internal temperature rapidly even after the car has been parked in direct sunlight. Additionally, the Bentley's infotainment system is shared with the latest Audi and Porsche technology, making it significantly more intuitive and reliable than the bespoke systems found in some British rivals. This blend of German-engineered reliability and British artisan craftsmanship makes it the most well-rounded choice for daily use in the region.

Running Costs & Resale

Operating a hand-built 4.0L V8 in the GCC is surprisingly manageable given the region's relatively accessible fuel costs. On the highway, the engine utilizes cylinder deactivation to improve efficiency, while city driving in stop-start traffic will see consumption naturally rise to reflect its performance capabilities. Maintenance is strictly handled through authorized Bentley service centers located in major hubs like Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Muscat, and Kuwait City, ensuring the vehicle's long-term health and documentation. As a European-spec vehicle, buyers should ensure they utilize specialized service packages that mirror the local requirements for oil viscosity and filter changes suited to high-heat environments. Historically, the Bentayga S holds its value better than the standard V8 model due to its higher desirability and limited supply on the used market. You can expect a depreciation curve that is more favorable than flagship sedans, as the demand for high-end SUVs remains the strongest segment in the Middle East. After three years, a well-maintained, low-mileage S trim typically retains a high percentage of its original value, especially in a sought-after neutral color like Grey.

Performance & Capability

The heart of this machine is a 542 hp twin-turbocharged V8 that allows this 2.4-ton SUV to reach 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds, a feat that is incredibly impressive during short-ramp highway merges. With a top speed of 290 km/h, it is one of the fastest SUVs on the planet, making light work of the high-speed limits found on major regional arteries. The All Wheel Drive system is not just for rainy European winters; it provides exceptional traction on the gravel tracks of the Hajar mountains and stability during the occasional desert sandstorm. With 770 Nm of torque available from very low in the rev range, the towing capacity is class-leading, making it an ideal companion for those who transport jet skis or horse trailers to the coast. The ground clearance is adjustable via the air suspension, allowing you to raise the vehicle to navigate uneven terrain or lower it for easier entry and exit at valet points. Drive modes can be toggled to 'Bentley' mode, which is the factory's recommendation for the perfect balance of wafting comfort and athletic response for daily GCC commuting.

Comfort & Cabin

The five-seat configuration in this Bentayga S is designed to provide maximum legroom for rear passengers, making it suitable for both family school runs and executive transport. The cabin is an exhibition of fine materials, featuring hand-stitched leather and real metal switchgear that feels cool to the touch even in the summer. A major highlight is the multi-zone climate control system, which features dedicated vents and controls for rear passengers, ensuring total comfort for everyone regardless of the outside temperature. The seats are highly adjustable and include heating and ventilation, which is an absolute necessity for staying fresh during the humid months in coastal cities like Jeddah or Dubai. Sound insulation is achieved through double-glazed acoustic glass, which effectively silences the roar of highway traffic and the whistling of desert winds. To complete the experience, the premium audio system provides a concert-hall experience, utilizing advanced signal processing to fill the cabin with crystal-clear sound that isn't distorted by road noise. This is a space designed for long-distance travel, where you arrive at your destination feeling more relaxed than when you started.

Safety

Safety in the Bentayga S is comprehensive, utilizing a suite of sensors and cameras that are particularly beneficial in the fast-paced, multi-lane driving environment of the GCC. The 360-degree camera system is essential for navigating tight parking structures in luxury malls, while the blind-spot monitoring is a lifesaver on 140 km/h highways where cars frequently change lanes. Adaptive Cruise Control with lane-keep assist makes the long drives between cities like Abu Dhabi and Al Ain significantly less fatiguing by automatically maintaining distance from the car ahead. Night Vision is an available tech feature that helps detect hazards or stray animals on unlit desert roads after dark, adding an extra layer of security. The vehicle is built on a high-strength steel and aluminum frame designed to exceed global crash standards, providing peace of mind for those carrying family members. It also features advanced traction and stability control systems that have been calibrated to handle sudden changes in surface grip, such as moving from asphalt to sand-covered roads.

The bottom line

For the discerning buyer in the GCC, this near-zero-mileage Bentayga S offers the prestige of a new Bentley without the wait, finished in a color and trim that represents the best of the model's resale potential. It is the perfect acquisition for an owner who demands supercar performance wrapped in the world's most refined SUV cabin.
