Summary

This 2023 Range Rover HSE offers a refined entry into the flagship luxury SUV segment, finished in the region's most desirable white exterior for optimal resale value. Despite the higher mileage, its GCC specification ensures the cooling systems and drivetrain are fully optimized for the extreme local heat. The HSE trim bridges the gap between the base SE and top-tier Autobiography, providing essential upgrades like Windsor leather and advanced driver aids that local buyers prioritize. This generation's monocoque architecture delivers a significantly stiffer, more composed highway ride than its predecessors. It remains the definitive choice for those who require genuine off-road capability without sacrificing executive presence in city traffic.

This Car vs Other 2023 Range Rovers

With 150,400 km, this vehicle has been driven extensively compared to the GCC average of 25,000 km per year, likely reflecting regular long-distance commutes between emirates. This high mileage makes it a more accessible entry point into the current L460 generation, while the white exterior remains the strongest color for maintaining value in the UAE market.

HSE vs Lower Trims

The HSE trim significantly upgrades the cabin experience over the SE, featuring perforated Windsor leather upholstery and a standard Meridian 3D Surround Sound System. It also introduces high-value tech for GCC drivers, including a Head-Up Display and Digital LED headlights with signature DRLs that offer superior visibility during night-time desert highway drives.

Range Rover vs Segment Rivals

When compared to the BMW X7 or Mercedes-Benz GLS, the Range Rover leads with its superior 295 mm maximum ground clearance and iconic Terrain Response 2 system for sand driving. While rivals offer more car-like handling, the Range Rover provides a higher command seating position and a more substantial 3,500 kg towing capacity for weekend leisure use.

Running Costs & Resale

The P360 mild-hybrid powertrain is designed to optimize fuel efficiency in stop-start traffic, typically averaging around 9.5 to 11.0 L/100km depending on GCC driving conditions. Land Rover maintains a robust authorized service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, though luxury European SUVs generally see a depreciation rate of 12-18% annually in this market. Choosing a GCC-spec model is vital for preserving resale value and ensuring parts availability.

Performance & Capability

The 300 hp 6-cylinder engine provides smooth, linear power delivery ideal for confident highway overtaking and long-distance cruising. The standard All-Wheel Steering system reduces the turning circle significantly, making this large SUV surprisingly agile in tight urban parking scenarios. Its air suspension can be raised to provide class-leading wading depth and clearance for off-road excursions.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the five-seat layout focuses on maximum passenger space and thermal comfort, featuring a powerful multi-zone climate control system engineered for 45°C+ summers. The Pivi Pro 13.1-inch curved glass touchscreen provides an intuitive interface for navigation and media, while acoustic laminated glass helps isolate the cabin from wind and road noise on high-speed desert roads.

Safety

The HSE comes equipped with a comprehensive ADAS suite, including a 3D Surround Camera system which is essential for maneuvering in crowded city areas. Standard safety features include Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist, and Blind Spot Assist, all of which provide critical support during fast-moving multi-lane highway travel common across the GCC region.

The bottom line

For the buyer seeking the prestige and technology of the newest Range Rover generation at a significantly reduced price point, this high-mileage, GCC-spec HSE is a strategic purchase.
