Summary

This 2023 Nissan Patrol NISMO represents the peak of Japanese SUV engineering, combining the region's favorite 4x4 with genuine motorsport-inspired performance. While standard Patrols are everywhere, the NISMO trim remains a rare sight, featuring a hand-tuned V8 developed by the same Takumi engineers who build the GT-R engine. For a GCC buyer, this black-on-black example offers excellent resale stability, as the V8 powertrain is highly coveted following the model's transition to smaller engines. Its higher-than-average mileage is consistent with its role as a cross-emirate highway cruiser, a task it performs with more stability than any other SUV in its class thanks to specialized Bilstein damping.

This Car vs Other 2023 Patrols

With 112,700 km, this vehicle has been driven more than the typical 20,000–25,000 km annual average for the GCC, indicating frequent long-distance highway use where the NISMO's aerodynamic package excels. In the UAE market, black is a tier-one resale color, ensuring this flagship remains in high demand despite the mileage. Buyers can take confidence in the fact that these engines are over-engineered for the heat and frequently reach high distances with routine care.

NISMO vs Lower Trims

The NISMO is a complete mechanical departure from the Titanium or Platinum trims, adding 28 hp, a specialized body kit with a functional rear diffuser, and 22-inch forged RAYS alloy wheels. Inside, it swaps standard leather for a bespoke Alcantara and leather combination with red accents, alongside a NISMO-specific digital cluster and the signature red tachometer that signifies its Takumi-tuned heart.

Patrol vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Toyota Land Cruiser GR-Sport, the Patrol NISMO offers a more visceral, naturally aspirated V8 experience that many GCC enthusiasts prefer over newer turbocharged units. It leads the segment in high-speed stability due to its Bilstein suspension and zero-lift aerodynamics, making it the preferred choice for those who prioritize Sheikh Zayed Road performance over pure desert dune-bashing.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the tuned V8 averages approximately 14.5 L/100km, though this can rise in stop-start city traffic in Dubai or Riyadh. Service intervals are strictly every 10,000 km at authorized Nissan centers, which are arguably the most accessible network across the entire GCC region. The NISMO trim specifically retains value better than base V6 models due to its limited production and status as the final evolution of the 5.6L V8 era.

Performance & Capability

The 428 hp V8 delivers a 0–100 km/h time of 6.6 seconds, an impressive feat for a vehicle weighing nearly 2.8 tonnes. While it retains the legendary Patrol 4WD hardware, the NISMO is lowered by 45mm to improve cornering, making it a dedicated asphalt performer capable of maintaining 160 km/h with total composure. The 560 Nm of torque provides effortless overtaking power even when fully loaded with passengers and cargo.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a sanctuary of climate-controlled luxury, featuring high-output air conditioning and ventilated front seats designed to combat 50°C summer peaks. Despite the sporty Alcantara trim, it retains family practicalities like the cooled center console box and a 12.3-inch infotainment system. The 13-speaker Bose audio system is specifically tuned to overcome road noise at high highway speeds, ensuring a premium acoustic experience.

Safety

Standard safety tech is comprehensive, featuring Intelligent Cruise Control and a 360-degree Around View Monitor that is essential for maneuvering a vehicle of this scale in tight urban parking. The suite includes Blind Spot Warning, Lane Departure Prevention, and Forward Emergency Braking with pedestrian detection. These systems provide a vital safety net for long desert highway drives and fast-moving multi-lane traffic.

The bottom line

For the enthusiast who refuses to give up the V8 roar, this GCC-spec NISMO is the ultimate high-speed cruiser for the UAE's open roads. It offers a rare opportunity to own a hand-assembled performance icon with a service network that spans every corner of the Middle East.
