Summary

The 2024 Nissan Patrol Super Safari represents the final, most refined iteration of the legendary Y61 generation, a vehicle built specifically for the demands of the Middle East. With just 41,420 km on the odometer, this example is barely run-in for a model famous for surviving hundreds of thousands of kilometers in harsh desert conditions. The White exterior is widely regarded as the strongest resale color in the UAE market, perfectly reflecting heat while maintaining high demand. As one of the last brand-new Y61s available, it offers a rare mix of historical durability and 2024-model-year reliability. For a GCC buyer, this is the ultimate choice for a vehicle that can transition from a comfortable city commute to professional-grade dune bashing without hesitation.

This Car vs Other 2024 Patrols

At 41,420 km, this Patrol has seen slightly higher than average use for a one-year-old vehicle in the GCC, though this typically indicates consistent highway use between emirates rather than stop-start city wear. Given the Super Safari's reputation for mechanical longevity, this mileage is a minor factor compared to its exceptional maintenance potential. The classic white paint provides a distinct advantage at resale, as it is the most sought-after color for this specific model across the region.

SUPER SAFARI vs Lower Trims

The Super Safari trim significantly upgrades the ownership experience over the base Safari by adding premium leather upholstery, a power sunroof, and a more advanced 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay. It also features the iconic exterior striping and 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels that define the model's status. For the GCC driver, the standard cooled centre console and upgraded climate control system are essential additions for summer comfort.

Patrol vs Segment Rivals

When compared to the Toyota Land Cruiser 70 Series, the Super Safari offers a far more refined interior and superior highway stability while matching its rival's legendary off-road hardware. Its 135-litre dual-tank system provides a much longer cruising range for cross-border drives than modern crossovers like the Ford Expedition. The inline-six 4.8L engine is specifically tuned for high-torque sand performance, a field where many turbo-charged competitors struggle with heat soak.

Running Costs & Resale

The Super Safari is a high-consumption vehicle, averaging approximately 17.2 L/100km in mixed GCC driving, but it runs reliably on 95 RON fuel. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km, and with the most extensive authorized service network in the region, parts are available in every major city from Riyadh to Muscat. This trim maintains one of the highest resale values in the UAE, often retaining over 80% of its value after the first year due to its cult-like status among local enthusiasts.

Performance & Capability

The legendary 4.8L VTC engine produces 280 hp and 451 Nm of torque, allowing it to reach 100 km/h in approximately 9.9 seconds. Its true strength lies in its heavy-duty 4WD system, featuring a selectable low-range transfer case and a rear differential lock that makes it nearly unstoppable in deep sand. With 215 mm of ground clearance and generous approach angles, it is engineered for weekend desert expeditions and heavy-duty towing across the emirates.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin comfortably seats seven across three rows, with the Super Safari trim providing tan leather and wood-grain accents for a more executive feel. The air conditioning is widely considered one of the most powerful in the automotive world, featuring dedicated rear vents that ensure passenger comfort even in 50-degree summer heat. Practicality is enhanced by a cooled glovebox for beverages and a spacious cargo area that expands significantly with the rear seats folded.

Safety

Standard safety features on this trim include Dual Front Airbags, an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with EBD, and Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) to maintain stability on loose surfaces. It also includes a rearview camera and rear parking sensors to aid visibility in tight city spots. For high-speed highway travel, the cruise control and tire pressure monitoring system provide essential layers of security for long-distance family trips.

The bottom line

For the enthusiast who values mechanical purity and legendary GCC durability, this 2024 Super Safari is a prime opportunity to own a piece of automotive history in its most complete, modern form.
