Summary

This 2023 Nissan X-Terra Platinum offers a refined yet rugged driving experience with a GCC-specific build designed for high-heat durability. The black exterior holds strong resale appeal in the UAE market, perfectly complementing the top-tier Platinum trim that features premium leather and advanced cabin tech. As a body-on-frame SUV with a capable four-wheel-drive system, it is uniquely suited for weekend adventures while remaining fuel-efficient for daily commutes. With its modern ADAS suite and high safety ratings, this listing represents a balanced choice for family-focused buyers seeking reliability without the heavy depreciation of luxury European rivals.

This Car vs Other 2023 X-Terras

With 84,908 km, this vehicle has seen active use typical of GCC long-distance commuting, where annual averages often exceed global norms. While higher than average for its age, this mileage is offset by the Platinum trim's superior equipment and the model's reputation for mechanical durability. The black exterior is a high-demand color in the local used market, ensuring faster resale and better value retention compared to niche colors.

PLATINUM vs Lower Trims

The Platinum trim significantly upgrades the ownership experience by adding 18-inch machine-cut alloy wheels, premium leather upholstery, and a 9-inch touchscreen with built-in Navigation. Unlike the Titanium or SE trims, the Platinum includes the Bose 8-speaker premium audio system and the full Intelligent Mobility suite, including a 360-degree camera and Intelligent Emergency Braking. It also features acoustic glass, providing a noticeably quieter cabin during high-speed highway travel across the Emirates.

X-Terra vs Segment Rivals

The X-Terra leads rivals like the Toyota Fortuner and Mitsubishi Montero Sport in terms of standard interior technology and ride refinement. Its 78-litre fuel tank provides a generous cruising range for long desert highway stretches between Abu Dhabi and Riyadh. While rivals emphasize raw utility, the X-Terra Platinum offers a more passenger-focused interior with 'Zero Gravity' inspired seating that reduces fatigue during cross-border road trips.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 2.5L engine averages approximately 8.8 L/100km, offering a budget-friendly balance for a 4WD SUV in stop-start city traffic. Nissan maintains one of the most extensive authorized service networks across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, ensuring parts are affordable and readily available. Historically, the X-Terra retains its value well in the GCC, typically depreciating at a lower annual rate than European crossovers due to its ladder-frame durability.

Performance & Capability

Equipped with a 243 mm ground clearance and a selectable 4WD system, this SUV is built to handle rocky wadis and moderate desert dunes with ease. The 2.5-litre engine is paired with a smooth 7-speed automatic transmission, optimized for steady highway cruising and efficient power delivery. Features like Hill Start Assist and Hill Descent Control come standard, providing extra confidence when navigating steep terrain or sandy slopes during weekend escapes.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed specifically for the GCC climate, featuring a high-capacity dual-zone climate control system with dedicated vents for all three rows. The Platinum trim provides premium leather seating and an 11-inch rear entertainment screen to keep passengers engaged on long drives. High-quality insulation and acoustic windshield glass help block out external heat and road noise, maintaining a serene environment even in the peak of the summer heat.

Safety

Safety is a priority with a 5-star ASEAN NCAP rating and a comprehensive suite of six airbags standard on this trim. The Platinum is equipped with Intelligent Lane Intervention, Blind Spot Warning, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert, which are invaluable for navigating fast-moving multi-lane highways. It also includes Intelligent Forward Collision Warning and Emergency Braking, providing an extra layer of protection for family commuters in unpredictable traffic conditions.

The bottom line

For the GCC buyer seeking a modern, tech-rich family SUV that doesn't compromise on off-road capability, this X-Terra Platinum is an excellent opportunity. It bridges the gap between a rugged workhorse and a luxury commuter, backed by Nissan's unmatched regional service support.
