Summary

This 2023 Nissan X-Terra Platinum is a prime opportunity for GCC buyers seeking a modern, high-spec SUV that balances city school runs with desert weekend capability. As the top-tier Platinum trim, it features premium leather upholstery and a comprehensive tech suite that rivals more expensive segments. The practical Grey exterior is a highly desirable resale color in the UAE market, ensuring strong value retention for the next owner. With its body-on-frame construction and advanced 4WD system, it provides the rugged durability required for regional terrain while maintaining civilized highway manners. This specific listing offers a well-maintained entry into one of Nissan's most reliable and family-oriented platforms.

This Car vs Other 2023 X-Terras

With 55,535 km on the odometer, this vehicle sits at a typical usage level for a modern GCC SUV, where annual highway commutes often reach 25,000 km. Unlike the entry-level SE trims frequently found in the market, this Platinum variant provides the full luxury experience, making it a stronger choice for long-term comfort. The Grey finish is a neutral, high-demand shade in the local market, facilitating a faster resale than more niche colors.

PLATINUM vs Lower Trims

The Platinum trim significantly elevates the cabin experience over the Titanium and SE versions by adding premium leather seating and an 8-speaker audio system. Crucially for GCC drivers, it includes the 360-degree Intelligent Around View Monitor and a suite of active safety tech like Blind Spot Warning and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. It also features 18-inch alloy wheels and chrome exterior accents that provide a more sophisticated presence compared to the base models.

X-Terra vs Segment Rivals

The X-Terra competes directly with the Toyota Fortuner and Mitsubishi Montero Sport, leading the segment in cabin tech and daily refinement. Its 243 mm ground clearance is highly competitive, allowing for easier navigation of loose sand and gravel during weekend camping trips. While rivals often feel more utilitarian, the X-Terra’s upgraded interior and smoother 7-speed transmission offer a more passenger-car-like experience on the highway.

Running Costs & Resale

The 2.5L engine delivers a fuel consumption rate of approximately 11.4 km/L, offering a balanced trade-off between power and efficiency for a 7-seater. Nissan’s extensive authorized service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman ensures that parts are readily available and maintenance costs remain predictable. Historically, the X-Terra maintains high residual value in the GCC, typically retaining about 70-75% of its value over the first three years due to its reputation for mechanical durability.

Performance & Capability

With 165 hp and 241 Nm of torque, the 2.5L inline-4 is tuned for reliability and steady power delivery across the Emirates' highways. The Four Wheel Drive system features a selectable rotary switch, allowing drivers to engage 4H or 4LO for serious off-road recovery and soft sand maneuvers. Its ladder-frame chassis ensures the vehicle can handle the stresses of frequent desert driving without the structural fatigue common in unibody crossovers.

Comfort & Cabin

Designed for large families, the 7-seat layout features stadium-style seating to ensure visibility for all rows, along with a remote-folding second row for easy access. The dual-zone climate control is specifically engineered for the 45°C+ summer heat, supplemented by dedicated rear AC vents that ensure all three rows remain cool. Platinum-exclusive features like the digital rearview mirror and acoustic glass help isolate the cabin from wind noise and exterior heat during long cross-border drives.

Safety

This Platinum trim comes standard with Nissan Intelligent Mobility, featuring Intelligent Forward Collision Warning and Emergency Braking which are essential for fast-moving GCC highway traffic. The safety package includes six airbags, Hill Start Assist, and Hill Descent Control, providing extra confidence when navigating steep dunes or rocky wadi beds. Unlike base trims, this model includes the full ADAS suite to assist with lane keeping and driver alertness on long desert stretches.

The bottom line

This Platinum X-Terra is the ideal choice for a family that wants the luxury of a Patrol in a more maneuverable, fuel-efficient package with the best resale spec available in the market today.
