Summary

This 2024 Nissan X-Terra Platinum offers an exceptional opportunity to own a range-topping SUV with mileage that sits comfortably below the GCC annual average for a vehicle of its age. The Platinum trim is highly sought after in the UAE market for its blend of rugged body-on-frame durability and premium interior finishes, ensuring strong value retention compared to its rivals. Its striking Red exterior is a standout choice that remains popular in the region's diverse pre-owned market. Designed to handle the extreme heat of the Gulf, this GCC-spec 4x4 provides reliable family transport during the week and capable desert exploration on the weekends. For a buyer prioritizing safety and cabin technology, this latest-generation X-Terra represents a versatile, high-spec workhorse.

This Car vs Other 2024 X-Terras

With just under 42,000 km, this X-Terra has been driven significantly less than the typical 25,000 km per year average seen in the GCC. The Red paintwork offers a unique alternative to the standard white and silver fleet, often commanding quicker attention in the local used market. Being a GCC-spec model, it carries the full assurance of localized cooling systems and parts compatibility that import models lack.

PLATINUM vs Lower Trims

The Platinum trim adds significant value over the SE and Titanium variants, most notably featuring a 9-inch touchscreen with integrated Navigation and a premium 8-speaker Bose audio system. It upgrades the cabin with quilted leather seats and 18-inch machine-cut alloy wheels, while adding essential safety tech like a 360-degree Intelligent Around View Monitor. These features are highly prized by GCC buyers and typically lead to a faster resale process.

X-Terra vs Segment Rivals

The Nissan X-Terra leads rivals like the Toyota Fortuner and Mitsubishi Montero Sport in terms of ride refinement and cabin technology, particularly with its signature Zero Gravity seats. Its 78-litre fuel tank provides a generous cruising range for long-distance travel between Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Muscat. Furthermore, the X-Terra offers a more modern interior layout and advanced ADAS safety features compared to several competitors in the mid-size body-on-frame segment.

Running Costs & Resale

The 2.5L engine is optimized for efficiency, delivering approximately 8.8 L/100km on combined GCC cycles, making it one of the more economical 7-seaters in the stop-start traffic of Dubai or Riyadh. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km, supported by one of the most extensive authorized service networks across all GCC countries. Historically, the X-Terra Platinum maintains roughly 80-85% of its value after the first three years, performing exceptionally well due to Nissan's local reputation for reliability.

Performance & Capability

Equipped with a genuine low-range transfer case and 243 mm of ground clearance, this X-Terra is built for more than just mall runs. The 165 hp 2.5L engine provides steady power delivery, while the 7-speed automatic ensures smooth highway cruising during cross-emirate trips. Its Four-Wheel Drive system includes selectable modes, making it a reliable companion for weekend camping trips or light desert dune driving.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a true seven-seater with a theater-style seating arrangement that ensures every passenger has a clear view. Dual-zone automatic climate control with dedicated rear vents is standard, providing rapid cooling even when temperatures exceed 45°C. For the driver, power-adjustable seats and a quiet, insulated cabin make long commutes between Emirates feel significantly shorter.

Safety

Safety is a primary focus for this Platinum trim, featuring Nissan Intelligent Mobility which includes Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, Blind Spot Warning, and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert. The standard 360-degree camera system is particularly useful for maneuvering this large SUV into tight city parking spaces. With six airbags and a robust body-on-frame construction, it offers the passive protection families in the GCC prioritize.

The bottom line

For the family buyer who needs a high-spec, low-mileage 4x4 that won't break the bank at the pump, this 2024 Platinum trim is the most complete package currently available in the regional market.
