Summary

This Land Cruiser VXR offers a compelling balance of modern twin-turbo performance and the long-term reliability synonymous with the GCC's favorite SUV. With mileage reflecting typical highway use for its age, this flagship trim provides a significantly more luxurious cabin than the utility-focused base models. The white exterior remains the gold standard for resale value in the region, ensuring your investment is well-protected. Whether navigating fast-moving highway traffic or planning a weekend in the dunes, the LC300 is engineered to handle the extreme heat and terrain of the Gulf without compromise. It stands as the definitive choice for families who require both prestigious on-road presence and genuine off-road capability.

This Car vs Other 2023 Land Cruisers

With approximately 77,000 km, this vehicle is aligned with the average annual usage of 25,000 km typical for large SUVs in the GCC market. Many of these kilometers are likely from efficient highway cruising between emirates rather than heavy city idling. The white paint is the highest-demand color in the region, offering superior heat reflection and the strongest possible resale liquidly.

VXR vs Lower Trims

As the flagship trim, the VXR upgrades the experience with premium leather, a 14-speaker JBL sound system, and a 12.3-inch infotainment screen that is much more capable than the GXR's unit. Crucially for the GCC climate, it adds second-row seat ventilation and a four-zone climate control system, ensuring all seven passengers stay comfortable during the peak of summer.

Land Cruiser vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Nissan Patrol, the Land Cruiser leads with its modern 10-speed automatic transmission and highly efficient twin-turbo V6 architecture. Its 110-litre fuel tank provides exceptional range for cross-border journeys, while the body-on-frame GA-F platform offers a level of durability in soft sand that monocoque rivals struggle to match.

Running Costs & Resale

The twin-turbo V6 averages between 14–16 L/100km in mixed GCC driving conditions, a notable improvement over the older V8 models. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km, supported by the most extensive authorized service network in the Middle East. Historically, the Land Cruiser retains over 80% of its value after three years, making it one of the safest automotive investments in the region.

Performance & Capability

The 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 produces 409 hp and 650 Nm of torque, enabling a 0–100 km/h sprint in just 6.7 seconds—impressive for a vehicle of this size. It features a 235 mm ground clearance and a Multi-Terrain Select system with modes for Sand, Mud, and Rock. The standard Crawl Control acts as an off-road cruise control, managing throttle and braking so the driver can focus entirely on steering through difficult dunes.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a sanctuary from the exterior heat, featuring ventilated seats in both the front and second rows and a dedicated refrigerator in the center console. The VXR trim includes a large Head-Up Display and rear-seat entertainment screens to keep passengers occupied on long desert drives. Acoustic glass and improved insulation significantly reduce wind noise compared to previous generations, enhancing long-distance comfort.

Safety

The VXR comes standard with the full Toyota Safety Sense suite, featuring Dynamic Radar Cruise Control and Lane Tracing Assist, which are essential for safety on long GCC highways. The 360-degree panoramic view monitor with an under-floor view provides critical visibility when navigating both tight parking spaces and rocky terrain. Ten airbags and a robust suite of stability controls ensure maximum protection for all seven occupants.

The bottom line

This VXR is the perfect match for a buyer who wants the peak of Toyota luxury without the waitlist of a new vehicle, offering a battle-proven specification ready for immediate GCC road trips.
