Summary

This 2023 Land Cruiser VXR represents the flagship of the 300-series, offering a perfect balance of executive luxury and legendary desert capability. At three years old, this vehicle sits in the sweet spot of the GCC used market, where the white exterior remains the most sought-after color for heat reflection and resale value. The VXR trim is highly prized in the region for its superior cabin tech and advanced safety suite compared to the more utilitarian GXR. For a GCC buyer, this model stands out as a reliable long-distance cruiser that holds its value better than almost any other SUV in its class. It is the definitive choice for those who require a vehicle that can transition from a high-stakes business meeting to a weekend in the dunes without hesitation.

This Car vs Other 2023 Land Cruisers

In the GCC market, a three-year-old Land Cruiser is typically expected to have covered between 60,000 and 75,000 km due to the long-distance nature of regional travel. The white exterior is a significant advantage here, as it is the highest-demand color in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, ensuring faster liquidity and better price retention. Choosing a GCC-spec model like this one ensures the cooling systems and air conditioning are specifically tuned for 50°C+ summer peaks.

VXR vs Lower Trims

The VXR trim significantly upgrades the ownership experience over the GXR by adding the 14-speaker JBL premium audio system and a larger 12.3-inch infotainment display. It also introduces essential GCC luxury features such as ventilated second-row seats and a 360-degree Panoramic View Monitor, which are often missing on lower grades. Furthermore, the VXR includes the full Toyota Safety Sense suite, providing adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping tech that makes long highway drives between emirates much less fatiguing.

Land Cruiser vs Segment Rivals

When compared to the Nissan Patrol or the Land Rover Defender, the Land Cruiser leads with its massive 110-litre fuel capacity, offering superior range for cross-border desert expeditions. Its body-on-frame construction provides a level of long-term durability in extreme heat that monocoque rivals struggle to match. Additionally, the Land Cruiser benefits from the most extensive authorized service network in the GCC, ensuring parts and expert maintenance are available in even the most remote areas.

Running Costs & Resale

The 3.5L twin-turbo engine delivers a combined fuel consumption of approximately 9.3 to 10.1 km/L, which is efficient for a vehicle of this size during highway cruising. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km, and Toyota's massive regional presence keeps maintenance costs predictable and competitive. Historically, the Land Cruiser VXR retains roughly 80-85% of its value after three years in the GCC, significantly outperforming European luxury SUVs in the same price bracket.

Performance & Capability

The twin-turbo V6 produces a potent 409 hp and 650 Nm of torque, allowing this large SUV to reach 100 km/h in approximately 6.7 seconds—plenty of power for confident highway overtaking. It features a sophisticated full-time 4WD system with Multi-Terrain Select and Crawl Control, specifically engineered to navigate soft sand and rugged wadis. The 10-speed automatic transmission ensures smooth power delivery, whether you are towing or cruising at 120 km/h.

Comfort & Cabin

The VXR cabin is a sanctuary from the GCC heat, featuring a high-output four-zone climate control system and ventilated seats for both front and middle-row passengers. The seven-seat layout is genuinely usable for families, and the premium leather upholstery paired with walnut wood trim creates a sophisticated executive atmosphere. Integrated rear-seat entertainment screens and a cooled center console box ensure all passengers remain comfortable during long summer road trips.

Safety

Safety is paramount with 10 airbags standard and the comprehensive Toyota Safety Sense package. This includes a Pre-Collision System with pedestrian detection, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control for the highway, and Lane Departure Alert. For the tight parking spaces and busy multi-lane roads of major GCC cities, the Blind Spot Monitor and Rear Cross Traffic Alert provide essential layers of protection that are standard on this flagship trim.

The bottom line

This 2023 VXR is the ideal match for a buyer who wants the peak of Japanese engineering with the highest possible resale security in the GCC market. It offers the perfect blend of 300-series performance and top-tier luxury features that make it a standout listing for families and executives alike.
