Summary

This 2024 Ford Taurus Trend offers a sophisticated and tech-forward driving experience, featuring the high-demand 2.0L EcoBoost engine that balances punchy performance with impressive efficiency. As a GCC-spec model, it is perfectly adapted for the region's climate with a cooling system designed to handle peak summer temperatures. The black exterior remains the most sought-after color for executive sedans in the UAE, ensuring strong resale demand. With relatively low mileage for its age, this sedan represents a modern, reliable choice for professionals and families who prioritize cabin tech and long-distance comfort. The Trend trim provides the perfect middle ground, offering essential driver aids that aren't found on the base Ambiente.

This Car vs Other 2024 Ford Tauruss

With just over 40,000 km, this Taurus sits at the expected average for a year-old vehicle in the GCC, where highway commuting often leads to higher annual totals. Unlike many examples that have been used heavily for fleet services, this car's condition reflects private use, making it a more desirable long-term asset. The black-on-black aesthetic is a premium choice that typically holds its value better than lighter shades in the secondary market.

Trend vs Lower Trims

Moving up from the Ambiente to the Trend trim adds critical safety and comfort features highly valued by GCC buyers. You gain the Blind Spot Information System (BLIS), Lane Keeping Aid, and Adaptive Cruise Control, which are indispensable for fast-moving UAE highway traffic. Additionally, the Trend replaces standard fabric with partial leather seats and adds dual-zone electronic automatic temperature control, ensuring the cabin stays significantly cooler during the summer months.

Taurus vs Segment Rivals

The Ford Taurus competes directly with the Toyota Camry and Nissan Altima, leading the segment with its massive 13.2-inch SYNC 4 infotainment screen which dwarfs the displays in its rivals. While the Camry is known for its hybrid efficiency, the Taurus offers a more executive feel with a longer wheelbase and superior sound insulation. Its 2.0L EcoBoost engine provides a more engaging turbocharged torque curve compared to the naturally aspirated alternatives found in the competition.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel economy for the 2.0L EcoBoost averages around 6.5 L/100km on the highway, though this can shift toward 9.0 L/100km in heavy stop-start Dubai or Riyadh traffic. As a GCC-spec Ford, it benefits from a vast authorized service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, ensuring parts are always accessible. The Taurus enjoys strong value retention in the region, typically depreciating at approximately 12% annually, which is competitive for a premium American sedan.

Performance & Capability

The turbocharged 2.0L engine delivers 240 hp and 390 Nm of torque, providing effortless overtaking power on 140 km/h highways. Mated to a smooth 8-speed automatic transmission, the Taurus handles long-distance cruises with refined gear shifts and minimal cabin vibration. Three selectable drive modes allow you to sharpen the steering and throttle response, making it equally capable for spirited driving or efficient urban commuting.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the Taurus Trend is designed around the 13.2-inch horizontal touchscreen, which integrates Apple CarPlay and Android Auto seamlessly. The dual-zone climate control is specifically tuned for the Middle East, delivering rapid cabin cooling even after the car has been parked in direct sun. Rear passengers benefit from class-leading legroom and dedicated air vents, ensuring comfort for three adults on cross-border trips between the Emirates.

Safety

Safety is a priority in the Trend trim, which comes equipped with six airbags and a comprehensive ADAS suite. Standard systems include Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking, a Driver Impairment Monitor, and a high-resolution rear-view camera. These features provide a safety net that is particularly effective for navigating high-speed highways and congested urban parking environments.

The bottom line

For the GCC buyer seeking a late-model executive sedan with superior cabin tech and a proven powertrain, this 2024 Taurus Trend is a high-value opportunity that doesn't sacrifice safety or comfort.
