Summary

This 2024 Ford Territory Trend offers a compelling package for GCC buyers seeking a modern, tech-forward SUV with a sophisticated street presence. Given its recent model year, this vehicle benefits from Ford's latest design language and a fuel-efficient 1.8L turbocharged powertrain that balances daily city commuting with long-distance highway comfort. The black exterior is a highly desirable choice in the regional used market, ensuring strong resale liquidity and a premium look that masks road grime well. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it is purpose-built to handle the extreme heat of the Arabian Peninsula, featuring a robust cooling system and air conditioning performance that many European imports struggle to match. This specific listing represents an excellent opportunity for families or young professionals who want the latest automotive technology and safety features without the steep depreciation of a showroom-fresh purchase. It stands out in its segment by offering significantly more interior volume and cargo capacity than many traditional Japanese rivals, making it a versatile choice for both school runs and weekend road trips across the Emirates.

This Car vs Other 2024 Territorys

When looking at the 2024 Ford Territory market in the GCC, this vehicle presents a unique profile based on its usage. While the mileage of 76,383 km is higher than the regional average of roughly 25,000 km per year, it indicates a vehicle that has been primarily used for long-distance highway commuting between cities like Dubai and Abu Dhabi. In the GCC, highway kilometers are often considered 'gentle' miles because they involve consistent speeds and optimal engine operating temperatures compared to the mechanical stress of stop-start city traffic. The black exterior is a significant advantage here, as it remains one of the most popular and fastest-selling colors in the UAE and Saudi Arabian markets, often commanding a quicker sale than more niche colors. Choosing this vehicle allows a buyer to step into a current-generation model year at a more accessible price point, benefiting from the latest chassis refinements and interior tech while the previous owner has already absorbed the initial heavy depreciation. It is a practical choice for a buyer who prioritizes modern features and reliability over a low odometer reading.

TREND vs Lower Trims

The Trend trim serves as the sweet spot in the Ford Territory lineup, offering several key upgrades that GCC buyers find essential for comfort and style. Moving up to this trim provides a more premium interior finish compared to the base Ambiente, including high-quality upholstery that is better suited for the local climate. One of the most noticeable additions is the enhanced infotainment suite and dual-zone climate control system, which allows the driver and front passenger to manage their own cooling preferences—a vital feature during the peak summer months in the Gulf. You also benefit from upgraded alloy wheels and LED exterior lighting signatures that give the car a much more modern and upscale appearance on the road. For the driver, the Trend trim often includes more sophisticated parking assistance and a clearer reversing camera, making it much easier to navigate tight mall parking structures in Dubai or Riyadh. These additions are not just about luxury; they are features that directly impact the daily ownership experience and contribute to a much stronger resale value when it is time to upgrade again.

Territory vs Segment Rivals

In the highly competitive compact to mid-size SUV segment, the Ford Territory holds a distinct advantage in terms of cabin architecture and space utilization. When compared to rivals like the Toyota RAV4 or the Mazda CX-5, the Territory offers a wider stance that translates into more shoulder room and a much more generous rear legroom experience, comfortably accommodating three adults in the back. Its 1.8L EcoBoost engine is specifically designed to offer more torque at lower RPMs than many naturally aspirated competitors, which is particularly useful when overtaking on the fast-paced multi-lane highways of the UAE. The boot capacity is another area where this model leads, offering a flat and wide loading floor that easily fits large grocery hauls or family luggage for cross-border trips. Furthermore, the infotainment integration in the Ford is often cited as more intuitive and responsive than its Japanese counterparts, appealing to a tech-savvy generation of GCC drivers who prioritize seamless smartphone connectivity. This combination of American-influenced space and modern turbocharged efficiency makes it a formidable contender in its class.

Running Costs & Resale

Owning a GCC-spec Ford Territory in the region is a financially sensible decision due to the widespread availability of authorized Ford service centers across all major cities, including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Jeddah, and Muscat. This ensures that genuine parts are always in stock and specialized technicians are available for routine maintenance. The 1.8L engine is designed to run efficiently on standard petrol grades available at ADNOC or ENOC stations, with real-world fuel consumption being quite competitive for its size, especially during steady highway cruising where it can achieve impressive range figures. Maintenance intervals are typically every 10,000 km, following a standard schedule that is easy to manage. In terms of resale, the Ford Territory has seen strong adoption in the GCC, which helps maintain a steady demand in the used market. While it may not hold value quite as aggressively as a Toyota, it performs better than many European alternatives, typically seeing a depreciation of about 12-15% annually. By the three-year mark, a well-maintained Territory remains a highly liquid asset in the regional market.

Performance & Capability

The heart of the Ford Territory is its 1.8L four-cylinder turbocharged engine, which provides a punchy and responsive driving experience that belies its displacement. This powertrain is paired with a smooth automatic transmission that is tuned for comfort, ensuring that gear changes are almost imperceptible during city commutes. While this is a Front Wheel Drive (FWD) SUV, it offers excellent stability and grip on tarmac, making it a confident companion for the high-speed transit between Emirates. The ground clearance is ample for navigating speed bumps, steep driveway ramps, and the occasional unpaved gravel lot common in developing suburban areas. For the weekend warrior, while it is not designed for heavy dune bashing, its capability on hard-packed sand and gravel makes it perfectly suitable for reaching popular camping spots or wadi entrances. The steering is light and easy to manage, which is a major benefit for navigating the dense traffic of downtown Riyadh or the Marina district in Dubai, making the vehicle feel smaller and more agile than its generous interior dimensions would suggest.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin of the Ford Territory Trend is a sanctuary designed specifically for the lifestyle of a GCC family. It features five full-sized seats with a focus on rear passenger comfort, ensuring that even long journeys to Salalah or Ras Al Khaimah are pleasant for everyone on board. The air conditioning system is exceptionally powerful, a hallmark of Ford’s commitment to regional specifications, with dedicated rear vents that ensure the back row cools down rapidly even after the car has been parked in the direct sun. High-quality cabin insulation keeps the noise of highway wind and neighboring traffic to a minimum, allowing the audio system to shine. Storage is plentiful, with various cubbies for phones, water bottles, and sunglasses, reflecting a thoughtful interior design. The large windows and elevated seating position provide excellent visibility for all occupants, reducing the feeling of fatigue during long drives. Furthermore, the materials used throughout the cabin are selected for their durability and ability to withstand the intense UV exposure and heat common in the region without fading or cracking prematurely.

Safety

Safety is a paramount feature of the 2024 Ford Territory Trend, which comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of active and passive systems designed to protect its occupants. It carries a 5-star safety rating, providing peace of mind for families. Standard features include multiple airbags, Electronic Stability Control, and Traction Control, which are vital when driving on roads that can occasionally become slippery with sand or sudden rain. This trim level also includes advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) such as blind-spot monitoring, which is incredibly useful on the wide, fast-moving highways of the GCC where lane changes require constant vigilance. The rear parking sensors and high-definition camera make maneuvering this SUV safe and simple in crowded urban environments. Additionally, the tyre pressure monitoring system is an essential tool for the local climate, as extreme heat can significantly affect tyre pressures during long midday drives. Ford has ensured that these safety technologies are integrated seamlessly, providing a layer of protection that feels supportive rather than intrusive.

The bottom line

For the buyer who wants a 2024 model year SUV that feels a segment larger than it is, this Ford Territory Trend is a smart, tech-loaded choice. It offers the perfect balance of modern features and regional reliability, making it an ideal upgrade for a growing family.
