Land Rover Defender 110 SE P300

Highlights

• Genuine off-road rated
• 5-Star NCAP safety rating
• Lowest depreciation in class

Summary

This 2024 Land Rover Defender 110 S P300 represents a unique opportunity to own a nearly new modern icon that has already navigated the steepest part of its initial depreciation curve. While its mileage is higher than the typical GCC annual average, it indicates a vehicle that has been reliably tested on the long-distance highway routes that define regional travel between the Emirates. Finished in white, it occupies the strongest possible position for resale value in the Middle East, as this color is highly sought after for its superior heat rejection and timeless aesthetic. The P300 powertrain offers a perfect balance of punchy turbocharged performance and improved efficiency compared to the larger V8 variants, making it a sensible choice for daily commuting in Dubai or Riyadh. This specific trim provides the rugged essential capabilities the nameplate is famous for without the over-complexity of higher-tier electronics. For a buyer looking for the prestige and capability of the new generation model at a more accessible entry point, this American spec vehicle offers a compelling package.

This Car vs Other 2024 Defender 110s

When looking at 2024 Defender 110 models in the current secondary market, this vehicle stands out for its high-utilization history. While the average GCC driver covers approximately 20,000 to 25,000 km per year, this example has covered 60,000 km in a shorter timeframe, suggesting it has been used primarily for long-distance cruising across major regional arteries. This high-mileage status is reflected in a more competitive entry price compared to 'garage queen' examples, offering the same 2024 technology and structural integrity for less. The white exterior is a strategic advantage here; in the GCC, white vehicles are not only easier to maintain against fine desert dust but also command the quickest turnaround times when it is time to sell. Mechanically, these vehicles are engineered for extreme global conditions, meaning the highway miles covered are well within the robust operational limits of the chassis and cooling systems designed by Land Rover.

S P300 vs Lower Trims

The S P300 trim is a significant step up from the base 'Standard' specification, offering features that are considered essential for the premium SUV experience in the GCC. It upgrades the interior with grained leather seat facings and 12-way semi-powered front seats, which provide far superior comfort during the long drives between Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Unlike the basic versions, the S trim includes the highly desirable Interactive Driver Display, replacing traditional needles with a high-resolution screen that can mirror navigation maps directly in your line of sight. It also brings larger alloy wheels and premium LED headlights with signature DRLs, which are vital for visibility during night driving on unlit desert highways. The P300 designation ensures you have the 300 hp turbocharged engine, providing a decisive power advantage over entry-level diesel or lower-output petrol units found in some international markets, ensuring you are never underpowered when merging into fast-moving highway traffic.

Defender 110 vs Segment Rivals

The Defender 110 occupies a unique space where it competes with both luxury cruisers like the BMW X5 and rugged icons like the Toyota Land Cruiser 300. Compared to the BMW X5, the Land Rover offers significantly more genuine off-road capability, including superior approach and departure angles that are crucial for weekend dune bashing or rocky wadi exploration. When placed alongside the Toyota Land Cruiser, the Land Rover provides a much more sophisticated unibody driving experience, offering car-like handling and high-speed stability that the body-on-frame Toyota cannot match on paved roads. Its fuel tank capacity is generous, designed to handle the vast distances of the Arabian Peninsula without constant refueling stops. Additionally, the cabin technology and Pivi Pro infotainment system are widely considered more intuitive and faster-responding than the systems found in many American or Japanese rivals in this specific price bracket.

Running Costs & Resale

Operating a P300 variant in the GCC is more economical than most buyers expect for a vehicle of this size. The 2.0L turbocharged engine is designed to run efficiently on Super 98 or Special 95 petrol, which are readily available at every station across the UAE and KSA. While American spec vehicles do not typically carry the local agency warranty, the Land Rover service network is extensive throughout the GCC, with specialized independent garages in major cities like Dubai and Sharjah offering expert maintenance at a lower cost than official dealerships. Historically, the new generation model has shown incredible value retention, often losing only 12-15% of its value annually, which is superior to many other European luxury SUVs. At the three-year mark, these vehicles remain highly liquid assets in the local market. Buyers should follow the standard 10,000 km service intervals, focusing on cooling system checks and air filter replacements to combat the high ambient temperatures and sand intake common in the region.

Performance & Capability

Performance is headlined by a 0-100 km/h time of approximately 7.1 seconds, a remarkable feat for a 4x4 of this stature. The 300 hp engine produces 400 Nm of torque, which is delivered low in the rev range, making it ideal for pulling through soft sand or overtaking heavy trucks on the E11 highway. This vehicle features a sophisticated All-Wheel Drive system with Land Rover's legendary Terrain Response, allowing the driver to optimize the gearbox, center differential, and traction control for sand, rocks, or mud at the touch of a button. With a ground clearance of 291 mm when properly configured and a wading depth of up to 900 mm, it is over-engineered for almost any obstacle a GCC driver will encounter. The 8-speed automatic transmission is exceptionally smooth, ensuring that whether you are in stop-start traffic in Riyadh or cruising at 140 km/h, the engine remains in its most efficient power band.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the cabin is a sanctuary of functional luxury designed to withstand the harsh GCC climate. The dual-zone climate control is incredibly powerful, engineered to drop cabin temperatures from 50°C to a comfortable level in minutes. Seating for five is generous, with best-in-class headroom that makes the interior feel airy and expansive, even during the peak of summer. The materials used in the S trim are chosen for durability; the grained leather is resistant to wear and easy to clean after a trip to the beach or desert. Rear passengers benefit from dedicated air vents, a critical feature for family comfort in this region. Sound insulation is also a highlight, with the Defender 110 using advanced acoustic glass to keep the roar of the desert wind and highway tire noise outside the cabin, allowing the premium audio system to be enjoyed to its fullest.

Safety

Safety is a paramount feature of this 2024 model, which carries a 5-Star Euro NCAP rating. It comes standard with a comprehensive suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), including Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist, and a 3D Surround Camera that is invaluable for parking in tight mall spaces or navigating tricky off-road terrain. The Wade Sensing technology and Cruise Control with Speed Limiter make long-distance travel safer and less fatiguing. Six airbags are strategically placed to protect all five occupants, and the high-strength aluminum intensive D7x architecture provides the stiffest body structure Land Rover has ever produced. Blind Spot Assist is also included, which is a vital safety layer for the multi-lane highways of the UAE where fast-moving traffic requires constant vigilance.

The bottom line

This 2024 Defender 110 S P300 is the perfect choice for a pragmatic buyer who wants the latest styling and technology without the 'brand new' price tag. Its white-on-black configuration and robust mechanical spec make it a safe, high-value investment for both daily city use and weekend adventures across the GCC.
