Summary

This 2023 Land Rover Defender 110 X-DYNAMIC HSE P400 is an exceptional find for the GCC market, offering the high-output 400 hp straight-six hybrid powertrain that perfectly balances highway overtaking power with urban efficiency. Dressed in Santorini Black, it carries the most sought-after resale color in the region, ensuring strong value retention for the next owner. The X-DYNAMIC HSE trim strikes the ideal balance for a UAE lifestyle, providing high-end Windsor leather luxury and ventilated seats for the summer heat without the extreme price tag of the X or V8 trims. While the mileage reflects active use, these P400 engines are purpose-built for high-ambient-temperature durability and long-distance desert traversing. For a buyer seeking the ultimate modern icon that transitions seamlessly from downtown Dubai to the dunes of Liwa, this GCC-spec example is a premier choice.

This Car vs Other 2023 Defender 110s

At 110,000 km, this Defender has been more active than the average 20,000 km-per-year GCC standard, but this is often a sign of reliable highway-based commuting between emirates rather than taxing stop-start city use. The Santorini Black exterior is a massive advantage in the local market, consistently ranking as a top-three resale color across the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Being a GCC-spec vehicle, it retains full compatibility with regional Land Rover service centers and was originally cooling-optimized for the local climate.

X-DYNAMIC HSE P400 vs Lower Trims

The X-DYNAMIC HSE is a significant upgrade over the standard SE or S trims, most notably adding 14-way power-adjustable heated and cooled (ventilated) front seats which are essential for GCC summers. It also features a sliding panoramic glass sunroof, an extended leather upgrade for a more premium cabin feel, and the more aggressive X-DYNAMIC exterior styling package. Unlike the base P300, this P400 model utilizes a 48V mild-hybrid system and an electric supercharger for immediate torque and smoother stop-start performance in traffic.

Defender 110 vs Segment Rivals

The Defender 110 offers a unique monocoque architecture that provides far superior on-road refinement compared to the body-on-frame Toyota Land Cruiser 300 or Nissan Patrol, while maintaining competitive off-road stats. Its 900 mm wading depth leads the segment, and the sophisticated Terrain Response system allows for easier desert navigation than the more analog setups found in rivals. For long-distance GCC highway drives, the air suspension provides a level of ride quality that typical ladder-frame SUVs cannot match.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the P400 hybrid powertrain typically averages around 10.5 to 11.5 L/100km, which is highly efficient for a vehicle of this size in GCC conditions. Maintenance is supported by an extensive authorized service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, with standard intervals every 13,000 km or 12 months. The Defender continues to show one of the strongest value retention patterns in the luxury SUV segment, typically depreciating only 10-12% annually in the local used market.

Performance & Capability

The 3.0L twin-charged engine delivers a verified 0-100 km/h in 6.1 seconds, providing effortless acceleration for merging onto 140 km/h highways. Its maximum ground clearance of 291 mm and short overhangs make it a formidable off-road tool, capable of handling steep dunes and rocky wadis with ease. The 3,720 kg braked towing capacity is one of the highest in its class, making it ideal for hauling boats or horse trailers across the region.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the five-seat layout offers generous legroom and a premium Windsor leather interior that is both durable and luxurious. The dual-zone climate control is supplemented by powerful rear vents to ensure all passengers remain cool during peak summer temperatures. Technology is centered around the Pivi Pro 11.4-inch touchscreen, which is known for its high-speed response and clear interface, even in direct sunlight.

Safety

Standard safety equipment on the X-DYNAMIC HSE includes a 3D Surround Camera system with Wade Sensing, which is invaluable for both tight urban parking and navigating deep desert tracks. It features a full suite of ADAS technologies including Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, and Blind Spot Assist, all of which are specifically beneficial for the high-speed multi-lane highways common in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Six airbags and a rigid cabin structure contribute to its high international safety standing.

The bottom line

For the buyer who demands a high-spec GCC Defender in the best possible color, this P400 X-DYNAMIC HSE offers the perfect blend of verified capability and premium comfort at a balanced price point.
