Summary

This 2022 Defender 110 X-DYNAMIC HSE P400 represents a highly sought-after spec in the GCC, combining the powerful 400 hp mild-hybrid engine with a premium interior. With 119,000 km over four years, its usage is exactly in line with typical GCC annual averages, indicating it has been a consistent highway performer rather than a neglected city car. The white exterior is the gold standard for resale in this region, effectively reflecting heat and maintaining value better than any other shade. As an HSE trim, it bridges the gap between rugged utility and Range Rover-level luxury, making it a versatile choice for both the daily commute and weekend desert expeditions. The P400 powertrain is particularly prized here for its ability to maintain high speeds on long highway stretches across the Emirates.

This Car vs Other 2022 Defender 110s

At 119,000 km, this vehicle's mileage is average for a four-year-old SUV in the GCC, where long-distance driving is the norm. The white paint provides a significant resale advantage in the local market, as it is the most requested color for its thermal properties. Being a GCC-spec model, it features the cooling systems and AC specifications necessary to handle extreme summer temperatures effectively.

X-DYNAMIC HSE vs Lower Trims

The X-DYNAMIC HSE adds significant luxury and aesthetic upgrades over the standard S and SE trims, including the Meridian Surround Sound system and premium Windsor leather upholstery. It also features ventilated front seats, a critical comfort feature for the GCC climate, and 20-inch wheels that provide a more commanding presence on the road. The X-Dynamic package specifically includes unique exterior accents and durable Robustec interior materials designed for high-wear environments.

Defender 110 vs Segment Rivals

The Defender 110 stands apart from rivals like the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 and BMW X5 by offering a unique unibody architecture that provides superior on-road refinement without sacrificing elite off-road hardware. While the BMW focuses on tarmac agility, the Defender offers a class-leading 900 mm wading depth and a highly advanced Terrain Response 2 system. Compared to the Land Cruiser, the Defender provides a more modern, tech-focused cabin and a more responsive mild-hybrid engine.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the P400 mild-hybrid averages around 12.3 L/100km, which is efficient for a vehicle of this size during highway cruising between cities. Service intervals are typically scheduled every 13,000 km or 12 months at authorized centers like Al Tayer, which are widely available across the UAE and the broader GCC. The Defender currently enjoys some of the strongest value retention in the luxury SUV segment, often outperforming its European rivals by several percentage points annually.

Performance & Capability

The 3.0-litre inline-six produces 400 hp and 550 Nm of torque, enabling a 0–100 km/h sprint in just 6.1 seconds—impressive for a vehicle capable of technical rock crawling. Its adaptive air suspension allows for a maximum ground clearance of 291 mm, making it ideal for navigating deep sand dunes or rocky wadis. The high towing capacity of 3,720 kg makes it a top choice for those hauling boats or camping trailers across the region.

Comfort & Cabin

The 5-seat cabin is designed for long-distance comfort, featuring three-zone climate control with dedicated rear vents to ensure all passengers stay cool during peak summer. The X-DYNAMIC HSE trim includes a panoramic sunroof that brightens the interior and a cooled center console to keep beverages chilled on long desert drives. Cabin insulation is specifically engineered to minimize road and wind noise, providing a serene environment even at high highway speeds.

Safety

This trim comes standard with a full suite of ADAS features, including a 360-degree 3D Surround Camera that is essential for both tight city parking and navigating off-road obstacles. Adaptive Cruise Control and Blind Spot Assist are particularly useful for the fast-paced traffic on Sheikh Zayed Road. The vehicle also includes Lane Keep Assist and Emergency Braking, contributing to its reputation as one of the safest SUVs in its class.

The bottom line

This Defender 110 is the ideal configuration for a GCC buyer who wants a reliable, high-spec daily driver that is ready for the dunes immediately. Its white-on-black color scheme and HSE trim level ensure it will remain a highly liquid asset in the used market.
