Land Rover Defender 110 X-DYNAMIC HSE P400

Highlights

• 0–100 km/h in 6.1 seconds
• 900 mm maximum wading depth
• 3,720 kg braked towing capacity

Summary

This 2023 Land Rover Defender 110 represents the sweet spot of the modern lineup, combining the high-output P400 mild-hybrid engine with the aggressive X-Dynamic HSE styling. With 37,000 km, the mileage is slightly below the typical GCC average for a two-year-old SUV, suggesting it has been used more for city commuting than long-distance desert expeditions. The Silver exterior is a premier choice for the region, offering the best heat rejection during summer and maintaining a higher resale value than niche colors. As an American spec vehicle, it provides a high feature density, though buyers should ensure local service compatibility for the Pivi Pro system. This is a versatile, high-performance SUV that bridges the gap between a rugged off-roader and a sophisticated daily driver.

This Car vs Other 2023 Defender 110s

With 37,000 km on the odometer, this vehicle sits comfortably below the typical 40,000–50,000 km expected for a two-year-old SUV in the GCC highway-heavy market. The Silver finish is a strategic advantage, as it is one of the top three most requested colors for trade-ins in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. While American spec vehicles are common, this unit's X-Dynamic HSE trim makes it more desirable than the standard S or SE imports often found in the market.

X-DYNAMIC HSE P400 vs Lower Trims

The X-Dynamic HSE adds a significant layer of luxury and visual presence over the SE trim, including unique Silicon Satin exterior accents and more durable Robustec seat ribbons. Functional upgrades for the GCC climate are substantial, featuring 14-way heated and cooled memory seats and the superior 700W Meridian Surround Sound system. It also standardizes the Terrain Response 2 system, which provides an automatic mode for sand and rock that is optional on base models.

Defender 110 vs Segment Rivals

The Defender 110 leads rivals like the BMW X5 and Mercedes-Benz GLE in pure off-road geometry, offering a class-leading 900 mm wading depth and superior approach angles. Unlike the Toyota Land Cruiser 300, the Defender utilizes a monocoque architecture that provides much sharper handling on Dubai’s high-speed interchanges while maintaining a comparable 3,720 kg towing capacity. Its 3.0L inline-six MHEV powertrain offers a more refined power delivery than the turbocharged V6 engines found in many American-spec competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the P400 engine averages around 11.8 L/100km, though this can rise in stop-start city traffic in Riyadh or Dubai. The Land Rover service network is well-established across the UAE and major GCC cities, with standard intervals every 13,000 km or 12 months. While European luxury SUVs typically depreciate by 12–18% annually in the region, the Defender has shown stronger value retention due to its iconic status and high demand in the secondary desert-lifestyle market.

Performance & Capability

The 400 hp inline-six engine propels this SUV from 0–100 km/h in just 6.1 seconds, ensuring effortless overtaking on the E11 highway. Its air suspension can raise the vehicle to provide up to 291 mm of ground clearance, making it highly capable for weekend trips to the Liwa dunes or Jabal Jais. The twin-speed transfer box with low-range gearing and the P400's 550 Nm of torque provide the necessary crawl power for technical terrain that stops most road-biased crossovers.

Comfort & Cabin

This five-seat configuration prioritizes massive boot space and second-row legroom, ideal for family road trips between emirates. The cabin is specifically tailored for high-temperature environments with a powerful dual-zone climate system and ventilated front seats that are essential for UAE summers. The 11.4-inch Pivi Pro touchscreen is the centerpiece of the interior, offering high-definition 360-degree cameras that include a 'clear sight' ground view for navigating tight parking spots or rocky trails.

Safety

Safety is managed by a comprehensive suite of ADAS features, including Blind Spot Assist and Lane Keep Assist, which are particularly vital on fast-moving, multi-lane GCC roads. The 3D Surround Camera system with Wade Sensing provides real-time feedback when navigating deep water or obstacles, while Adaptive Cruise Control reduces driver fatigue on long desert stretches. Standard electronic traction and stability controls are specifically tuned to handle sudden changes in surface grip, such as sand drifts on highway shoulders.

The bottom line

For the UAE buyer seeking a modern icon that is equally at home at a valet stand or a desert camp, this low-mileage X-Dynamic HSE is the perfect premium all-rounder. It offers a significant equipment advantage over base trims, wrapped in the region's most practical resale color.
