Land Rover Defender 110 SE P300

Highlights

• Terrain Response with selectable off-road modes
• 900 mm maximum wading depth
• 90-litre fuel tank

Summary

This Defender 110 SE P300 strikes a perfect balance for the GCC market, offering the iconic off-road capability of the new generation with a more fuel-efficient turbocharged engine. Having covered just over 83,000 km in 3 years, the mileage sits within the typical average for UAE highway-driven SUVs, suggesting it hasn't lived a hard life in the dunes. The SE trim is a significant step up, providing the cooled seats and premium Meridian audio that make summer driving in the Emirates far more enjoyable. Brown is a sophisticated, high-resale choice for this model, hiding desert dust better than darker tones while maintaining a premium look at the valet. For the buyer who wants the Defender presence without the higher running costs of a V8, this is a highly logical choice.

This Car vs Other 2023 Defender 110s

With 83,902 km on the odometer, this vehicle has averaged roughly 28,000 km per year, which is standard for a primary family vehicle in the GCC where daily commutes between emirates are common. Unlike many higher-mileage examples used for heavy off-road tours, this one presents as a well-maintained road-focused SUV. The brown exterior is a sought-after 'earth tone' in the region, known for holding value well compared to niche or bright colors.

SE vs Lower Trims

Stepping up to the SE trim adds essential GCC comforts that the base S trim lacks, most notably the 14-speaker Meridian Surround Sound System and premium LED headlights with signature DRLs. Crucially, the SE includes ventilated and heated memory front seats, a feature that becomes a daily necessity during the peak Gulf summer months. You also benefit from larger 20-inch alloy wheels and the Blind Spot Assist Pack as standard.

Defender 110 vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 or the Nissan Patrol, the Defender 110 offers a more modern monocoque architecture that delivers superior on-road refinement and highway stability. While rivals often rely on larger displacement engines, the P300 powertrain provides a 90-litre fuel tank that ensures long-distance range for cross-country drives to Oman or Liwa. Its 900 mm wading depth remains the benchmark in the luxury SUV segment.

Running Costs & Resale

The P300 engine delivers a combined fuel consumption of approximately 10.1 L/100km, offering better efficiency in stop-start city traffic than its 6-cylinder counterparts. Being a GCC-spec model, it is fully supported by the extensive authorized service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, which is vital for maintaining resale value. The Defender currently holds one of the strongest residual value ratings in the UAE market, typically retaining significantly more value at the 3-year mark than comparable European luxury SUVs.

Performance & Capability

Equipped with the 2.0L turbocharged Ingenium engine producing 300 hp, this SUV reaches 0-100 km/h in 7.4 seconds, providing ample power for highway overtaking. The Terrain Response system allows you to instantly recalibrate the AWD system for sand, rocks, or mud, making it as capable on a weekend desert trip as it is on Sheikh Zayed Road. With its permanent All Wheel Drive and twin-speed transfer box, it retains the genuine low-range capability that defines the Defender nameplate.

Comfort & Cabin

The five-seat cabin is designed for both luxury and durability, featuring grained leather upholstery and an intuitive 11.4-inch Pivi Pro touchscreen. The SE trim ensures all passengers stay comfortable with a powerful dual-zone climate control system and dedicated rear air vents designed to combat extreme ambient temperatures. Acoustic glass and high-quality insulation keep the cabin remarkably quiet, even at high highway speeds.

Safety

This Defender 110 comes equipped with a comprehensive 3D Surround Camera system, providing a bird's-eye view that is invaluable for both tight city parking and navigating off-road obstacles. Standard safety tech includes Lane Keep Assist, Emergency Braking, and a Driver Condition Monitor. The inclusion of Blind Spot Assist and Rear Traffic Monitor provides essential protection during high-speed lane changes on busy multi-lane highways.

The bottom line

For the UAE driver seeking the prestige of a modern Defender with the sensible running costs of a 4-cylinder engine, this GCC-spec SE trim is an excellent mid-mileage opportunity.
