Summary

This 2024 Defender 110 HSE P400 represents a high-spec entry into Land Rover's most capable modern platform, finished in a resale-strong Grey that is highly favored in the GCC market. The P400 powertrain provides the smooth, high-torque delivery required for effortless highway cruising between emirates while maintaining genuine desert capability. With seven seats, it serves as a versatile family vehicle that doesn't sacrifice off-road heritage for cabin luxury. For the GCC buyer, the balance of the mild-hybrid six-cylinder engine and the HSE luxury features makes this a standout choice for both daily city commutes and weekend overland adventures. This specific listing offers a well-optioned trim that holds its value significantly better than entry-level configurations.

This Car vs Other 2024 Defender 110s

While typical GCC annual mileage often reaches 25,000 km, this vehicle has seen significant use in its first year, making it an accessible entry point for a late-model 2024 unit. The Grey exterior is one of the top three most requested colors in the UAE and Saudi markets, ensuring easier liquidity when it comes time to trade in. It is mechanically identical to lower-mileage examples, offering the same updated Pivi Pro infotainment and thermal management systems required for the local climate.

HSE P400 vs Lower Trims

The HSE trim is a substantial step up from the S and SE models, introducing premium Windsor leather upholstery and 14-way heated and cooled memory front seats as standard. You also gain the superior 700W Meridian Surround Sound System and the advanced Matrix LED headlights, which provide better visibility during night drives on unlit desert roads. Crucially, the P400 engine includes the mild-hybrid system, offering more refined stop-start performance in heavy traffic compared to the base four-cylinder P300.

Defender 110 vs Segment Rivals

The Defender 110 leads rivals like the BMW X5 and Mercedes-Benz GLE in genuine off-road hardware, featuring a two-speed transfer case and a class-leading 900 mm wading depth. While its German competitors focus on on-road sportiness, the Defender provides a higher ground clearance and better approach angles for weekend dune driving. Additionally, the availability of a functional third row gives it a practical edge over five-seat luxury crossovers for larger families.

Running Costs & Resale

The P400 mild-hybrid engine averages approximately 12.8 L/100km in mixed GCC driving conditions, with the 90-litre fuel tank providing ample range for cross-border trips. Land Rover maintains an extensive authorized service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, with recommended service intervals typically every 13,000 km or 12 months. As a GCC-spec model, it retains value far better than American or European imports, benefiting from a local warranty and cooling systems optimized for 50°C summers.

Performance & Capability

The 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-six produces 395 hp and 550 Nm of torque, enabling a 0-100 km/h time of approximately 6.1 seconds. Its permanent all-wheel-drive system is managed by Terrain Response, which optimizes the vehicle for sand, rock, or mud at the touch of a button. With a braked towing capacity of up to 3,500 kg, it is one of the most capable haulers in the luxury SUV segment, perfect for towing jet skis or camping trailers.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior features a three-zone climate control system with dedicated rear cooling vents, essential for maintaining passenger comfort during peak GCC summer months. The seven-seat configuration is flexible, with flat-folding rear rows that expand cargo space for long-distance family road trips. Standard acoustic glass and thick insulation ensure the cabin remains a quiet sanctuary, effectively blocking out highway wind noise and desert heat.

Safety

This Defender comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of safety tech, including a 3D Surround Camera system that is invaluable for parking in tight city spaces or navigating technical off-road trails. Adaptive Cruise Control and Blind Spot Assist provide peace of mind on fast-moving UAE highways, while the Wade Sensing technology protects the vehicle during unexpected heavy rain and localized flooding. Six airbags and a high-strength aluminum monocoque provide a robust safety foundation for all occupants.

The bottom line

This is the ideal purchase for a buyer who wants a current-model-year luxury icon with the high-output P400 engine and premium HSE features without the new-car showroom price tag.
