• 585 hp from a 4.0L biturbo V8
• Three 100% locking differentials standard

Summary

This 2024 G63 AMG represents a balanced opportunity in the UAE market, featuring mileage that aligns with the region's typical high-usage patterns while remaining significantly below what is expected for a two-year-old vehicle in this segment. As an icon of status and performance, the G-Wagon maintains a unique position in the GCC, where its presence on the road is as much a statement as its capability in the dunes. While this is a Japanese spec import, it offers a distinct price advantage over local GCC-spec alternatives while retaining the identical hand-built powertrain that defines the AMG brand. For a buyer looking to secure a current-generation W463A without the initial heavy depreciation of a brand-new showroom unit, this example provides the ideal entry point. Ownership in the GCC is supported by a massive network of specialist garages capable of maintaining these precision machines to factory standards.

This Car vs Other 2024 G63 AMGs

With 43,000 km over two years, this vehicle sits slightly below the GCC annual average of 25,000 km, making it a mechanically fresh choice for the model year. While local GCC-spec cars often command a premium for their cooling packages, Japanese spec imports like this one are highly sought after in the UAE for their generally superior aesthetic condition and lower entry price. The 'Other' exterior color offers a unique alternative to the sea of white and black G-Wagons, which can help with distinctiveness in the pre-owned market.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

As the G63 is the performance flagship, it adds significant hardware over the G500, including the hand-assembled 585 hp V8 and the AMG SPEEDSHIFT 9-speed transmission. This trim includes the essential 360-degree camera system and ventilated Nappa leather seats, both of which are critical for comfort and navigation in the intense Gulf heat and tight urban parking. The AMG-specific suspension with adaptive damping ensures the car remains stable during high-speed highway runs between Emirates.

G63 AMG vs Segment Rivals

The G63 leads rivals like the Range Rover Sport SVR and Lamborghini Urus by offering a genuine ladder-frame chassis and three mechanical locking differentials for superior off-road durability. Its upright design provides better visibility and headroom for all five passengers compared to the sloping rooflines of its performance SUV competitors. For long-distance GCC travel, the 100-litre fuel tank provides a significant range advantage over smaller-capacity rivals.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption typically averages around 13.2L/100km, though this will increase in stop-start Dubai traffic or during desert excursions. Service intervals are recommended every 10,000 km in the GCC due to the dusty environment and high heat, with major service centers readily available across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait. While the G63 depreciates faster than a Land Cruiser, it holds its value significantly better than other European luxury SUVs, typically retaining high resale value at the three-year mark due to its iconic status.

Performance & Capability

The 585 hp V8 biturbo engine delivers a blistering 0-100 km/h time of 4.5 seconds, providing effortless overtaking power on fast-moving highways like the E11. Its legendary off-road hardware, including a low-range transfer case and 241mm of ground clearance, makes it one of the few luxury vehicles truly capable of tackling deep sand dunes on the weekend. The side-exit AMG exhaust provides the signature V8 rumble that is highly prized by enthusiasts across the region.

Comfort & Cabin

The five-seat cabin is a sanctuary of luxury, featuring the Widescreen Cockpit with dual 12.3-inch displays and premium audio as standard. Given the Japanese spec origin, the air conditioning remains highly effective, though many owners in the UAE opt for ceramic window tinting to further shield the interior from the 45°C summer peaks. The upright seating position and acoustic glass provide a refined environment, isolating passengers from road noise during long trans-emirate drives.

Safety

The 2024 G63 comes equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including Active Brake Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, and Blind Spot Assist, which are vital for safety on high-speed multi-lane roads. It also features a robust 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system that provides exceptional grip on both rain-slicked city streets and loose gravel desert tracks. The high driving position offers a clear view of traffic, significantly enhancing situational awareness in congested urban areas.

The bottom line

For the UAE buyer seeking the prestige and performance of a modern G-Wagon at a more competitive price point, this Japanese spec 2024 G63 is a standout choice. It offers the latest technology and iconic V8 power in a package that is ready for both city luxury and weekend adventure.
