Summary

This 2024 Nissan Pathfinder SL is an exceptional find for GCC families, offering an eight-seat configuration paired with the region’s preferred 3.5L V6 engine. With only 37,012 km over two years, its mileage is significantly lower than the typical 40,000–50,000 km expected for a vehicle of this age in the UAE market. The Grey exterior is a high-demand, practical color for the local climate, ensuring strong resale interest when it's time to upgrade. As an SL trim, it bridges the gap between utility and luxury, providing essential high-tech features that rivals often reserve for top-tier editions. For the GCC buyer, the combination of a robust nine-speed automatic transmission and a proven service network makes this a reliable long-term investment.

This Car vs Other 2024 Pathfinders

With a Vehicle Age of 2 years and 37,012 km on the odometer, this Pathfinder has been driven roughly 18,500 km per year. This is comfortably below the GCC annual average of 20,000–25,000 km, representing a well-preserved mechanical life. The Grey finish is a strategic choice for the region, offering better heat management than darker tones and maintaining a higher resale value than niche colors.

SL vs Lower Trims

The SL trim is a major step up from the SV, introducing the Intelligent Around View Monitor which is indispensable for parking a large SUV in tight city spaces. It also upgrades the cabin with genuine leather upholstery and a larger 9-inch touchscreen with integrated navigation. GCC-specific conveniences like the wireless smartphone charger and power liftgate are standard here, adding daily utility that lower trims lack.

Pathfinder vs Segment Rivals

The Pathfinder leads competitors like the Honda Pilot and Toyota Highlander with a superior 2,722 kg towing capacity, making it the better choice for hauling jet skis or trailers to the coast. Its 71-liter fuel tank is optimized for long-distance desert highway runs between emirates. Unlike many rivals that use CVTs, the Pathfinder’s 9-speed automatic provides a more engaging and durable driving experience in stop-start traffic.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 3.5L V6 averages around 10.5L/100km, performing efficiently during highway cruising between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Service intervals are standard for Nissan in the GCC at every 10,000 km or 6 months, supported by one of the most extensive authorized service networks in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Resale value remains strong, with Japanese SUVs typically depreciating at a lower rate of 8-10% annually compared to European counterparts.

Performance & Capability

The 271 hp V6 engine delivers smooth, predictable power, capable of a 0-100 km/h sprint in approximately 7.5 seconds. The Intelligent All-Wheel Drive system includes dedicated Sand and Mud/Rut modes, perfectly suited for weekend escapes to the dunes or gravel tracks. On the highway, the nine-speed transmission ensures the engine stays in its quietest power band, providing a refined experience even at 120 km/h.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a true 8-seater, featuring a tri-zone climate control system with dedicated rear vents that are essential for maintaining comfort during 45°C summers. Superior acoustic glass helps isolate passengers from road noise and external heat during long afternoon drives. The second and third rows offer flexible folding options, providing up to 2,280 liters of total cargo space for family road trips.

Safety

This SL trim comes standard with Nissan Safety Shield 360, featuring Blind Spot Intervention and Lane Departure Warning which are vital for fast-moving multi-lane highway traffic. The Intelligent Around View Monitor provides a bird's-eye perspective to help navigate obstacles, while Rear Cross Traffic Alert adds security in crowded shopping mall car parks. Ten airbags and a high-strength steel frame provide comprehensive passive protection for all eight occupants.

The bottom line

For a GCC family seeking a modern, low-mileage SUV that balances desert-ready capability with premium cabin tech, this 2024 Pathfinder SL is a high-value opportunity in a competitive market.
