Summary

This 2024 Nissan Patrol Super Safari represents a rare opportunity to own a modern classic that remains the gold standard for desert endurance across the Arabian Peninsula. With just over 21,000 km, this white-exterior example offers a nearly-new ownership experience in the region's most sought-after resale color. The legendary 4.8L VTC engine provides mechanical purity and proven reliability that modern turbocharged rivals simply cannot replicate. For a buyer in the GCC, this is more than an SUV; it is a cultural icon that transitions effortlessly from high-speed highway cruising to demanding weekend dune bashing. Ownership is supported by the strongest parts and service network in the region, ensuring peace of mind for years to come.

This Car vs Other 2024 Patrols

At 21,682 km, this vehicle is well below the average GCC annual usage of 25,000 km, positioning it as a low-mileage advantage in the pre-owned market. The White exterior is the highest-demand color in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, reflecting heat efficiently and commanding the strongest resale value. Buying a 2024 model allows you to enjoy the final production year of this generation with minimal wear.

SUPER SAFARI vs Lower Trims

The Super Safari trim is the pinnacle of the Y61 range, adding essential GCC luxuries like tan leather upholstery and an electric sunroof that are often missing on the Safari or GL trims. It features a factory-integrated cooler box and a modern touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, bridging the gap between rugged heritage and daily usability. You also benefit from the distinctive two-tone aesthetic and machine-cut alloy wheels that define the top-spec model.

Patrol vs Segment Rivals

While the Toyota Land Cruiser 70 Series offers similar ruggedness, the Patrol Super Safari leads significantly in engine refinement and highway comfort thanks to its coil-spring suspension. Its 135-litre fuel capacity is designed specifically for long-distance desert crossings where smaller tanks require frequent refueling. The 4.8L inline-six is widely regarded as the superior platform for those who value mechanical longevity in extreme heat.

Running Costs & Resale

The Super Safari is a legendary value-holder in the Middle East, typically retaining around 75% of its value after three years. While the 4.8L engine is fuel-thirsty in city traffic, its mechanical simplicity leads to lower long-term maintenance costs compared to complex European SUVs. Authorized service centers are available in every major city across the UAE, KSA, and Kuwait, making parts sourcing simple and affordable.

Performance & Capability

The heart of this SUV is the 280 hp 4.8L VTC engine, delivering 451 Nm of torque for effortless climbing in soft sand. It features a heavy-duty body-on-frame construction and a manual-selector 4WD system with a rear differential lock for genuine off-road mastery. Whether you are overtaking on the E11 or navigating deep dunes, the linear power delivery and high ground clearance provide unmatched confidence.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the Super Safari offers a spacious 7-seat layout with dedicated rear AC vents to combat the 50°C summer heat. The cabin is trimmed in premium tan leather with wood-grain accents, creating a retro-luxurious atmosphere that is uniquely Patrol. Practical features like the cooled center console keep beverages chilled during long family road trips across the emirates.

Safety

Standard safety equipment includes dual front airbags, an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), and Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) to ensure stability on loose surfaces. This trim also features a rearview camera and cruise control, which are essential for navigating city parking and maintaining safe speeds on long desert highways. The rugged steel chassis provides a level of passive protection trusted by generations of GCC drivers.

The bottom line

This is the definitive choice for the GCC enthusiast who wants the legendary reliability of a 'VTC' in a nearly-new 2024 package. It is a bulletproof investment that serves as both a capable desert explorer and a high-status daily driver.
