Nissan Patrol LE PLATINUM CITY

• 140-litre fuel tank
• Extensive GCC authorised service network

Summary

This 2024 Nissan Patrol LE Platinum City is a standout example of the Middle East's most iconic SUV, offering a high-spec alternative to the newer turbocharged models. With 66,000 km over 2 years, it has been driven regularly across the UAE's highways, which is typical for a long-distance cruiser of this caliber. The White exterior remains the most sought-after color for resale in the GCC, effectively reflecting heat and maintaining value. As the top-tier Platinum City trim, it provides a level of cabin refinement and road presence that basic V6 models simply cannot match. For any buyer in the region, the combination of a naturally aspirated V8 and Nissan's massive service footprint makes this a secure and prestigious ownership choice.

This Car vs Other 2024 Patrols

At 66,000 km, this vehicle’s mileage is slightly above the typical GCC annual average but reflects the highway-heavy usage these SUVs are built for. In the local market, a 2-year-old Patrol in White is considered the benchmark for liquidity and resale strength. This specific V8 model is increasingly desirable as the market transitions toward smaller displacement engines.

LE PLATINUM CITY vs Lower Trims

The LE Platinum City is the definitive luxury specification, adding 22-inch machine-cut alloy wheels and the Hydraulic Body Motion Control system that lower trims lack. Inside, it gains premium quilted leather, a 13-speaker Bose audio system, and the Rear Seat Entertainment system with dual screens. It also features a 360-degree Intelligent Around View Monitor, making it significantly easier to maneuver than the base T1 or T2 variants.

Patrol vs Segment Rivals

The Patrol leads the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 in terms of interior plushness and on-road ride quality for the same price point. Its 140-litre fuel tank provides a massive range advantage for cross-border drives compared to European luxury SUVs. While the Chevrolet Tahoe offers similar space, the Patrol’s established reputation for desert durability gives it the edge for GCC weekend adventurers.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 5.6L V8 typically averages around 14.4 L/100km, though GCC city traffic can see this rise. The vehicle is engineered to run effectively on locally available high-octane petrol. Service intervals are standard at 10,000 km, supported by a vast network of authorized centers from Dubai to Muscat. Historically, the Patrol LE Platinum retains roughly 80-85% of its value after three years in the GCC, outperforming almost all European competitors.

Performance & Capability

The 400 hp V8 delivers a linear power delivery that is perfect for high-speed highway overtaking and conquering steep dunes in the Empty Quarter. It features a sophisticated All-Wheel Drive system with selectable modes for Sand, On-road, Snow, and Rock. With a 3,500 kg braked towing capacity and 273 mm of ground clearance, it remains one of the most capable dual-purpose vehicles available in the region.

Comfort & Cabin

The 8-seat configuration is designed for large families, featuring a tri-zone climate control system with dedicated rear vents that are essential for the 45°C+ summer months. This trim includes ventilated front seats and a cooled center console to keep drinks chilled during long drives. The cabin is exceptionally well-insulated, providing a quiet sanctuary from wind noise and exterior heat.

Safety

The LE Platinum City comes equipped with a comprehensive ADAS suite tailored for fast-moving GCC highways, including Intelligent Cruise Control, Blind Spot Intervention, and Lane Intervention. It features front, side, and curtain airbags as standard. The Intelligent Forward Collision Warning is particularly useful in heavy multi-lane traffic, providing alerts two cars ahead to prevent high-speed collisions.

The bottom line

This listing represents a prime opportunity for a family or executive buyer who wants the peak of Nissan's V8 legacy in the most resale-friendly color and trim available in the UAE today.
