Summary

This 2024 Patrol LE Platinum City represents the final opportunity to own the legendary naturally aspirated V8 platform before the transition to turbocharged power. With mileage sitting well below the GCC annual average for a full-size SUV, it offers significant long-term mechanical life for a buyer seeking durability. As the highest trim available for the V8 model, it features the exclusive 'City' bumper and 20-inch machine-cut wheels that command high resale interest in the UAE. The white exterior is the region's strongest resale color, providing a meaningful advantage when it eventually returns to the used market. For a GCC buyer, this is the definitive choice for balancing executive presence during the week with absolute desert dominance on the weekends.

This Car vs Other 2024 Patrols

At 41,000 km, this vehicle's mileage is significantly lower than the 50,000–60,000 km typically seen on one-year-old Patrols in the highway-heavy GCC market. The White exterior is the most sought-after color in the region, ensuring the fastest turnaround time and highest price retention at resale. While many 2024 models on the market are the V6 variant, this example carries the flagship 5.6L V8, which remains the preferred choice for local enthusiasts.

LE PLATINUM CITY vs Lower Trims

The LE Platinum City is distinguished from the LE Titanium by its premium quilted leather interior and the specialized 'City Bumper' design, which offers a more executive aesthetic. It adds ventilated front seats and a 13-speaker Bose premium audio system that are not standard on the T1 or T2 variants. Additionally, this trim includes the full 360-degree Around View Monitor and the Hydraulic Body Motion Control (HBMC) suspension, which is essential for reducing body roll on UAE highways.

Patrol vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Toyota Land Cruiser 300, the Patrol offers a larger 140-litre fuel tank, providing superior range for long-distance drives across the Emirates or border crossings to Oman and Saudi Arabia. While the Land Cruiser has moved to a V6, the Patrol LE maintains the 400 hp V8, offering the linear power delivery and sound that traditional luxury SUV buyers in the Gulf prefer. It also provides a wider cabin, resulting in more generous shoulder room for all eight passengers compared to the Chevrolet Tahoe.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 5.6L V8 in GCC conditions typically ranges from 14.5 L/100km on highways to 18 L/100km in stop-start city traffic with full air conditioning. Service intervals are strictly every 10,000 km or 6 months at authorized centers like Al Rostamani or Arabian Automobiles, ensuring the vehicle handles extreme summer heat. The Patrol holds exceptional value in the UAE, typically retaining 60-70% of its purchase price after three years, making it one of the safest automotive investments in the region.

Performance & Capability

The 400 hp V8 engine delivers a 0–100 km/h time of approximately 6.6 seconds, providing effortless overtaking power on the E11 highway. Its heavy-duty Four Wheel Drive system includes specialized modes for Sand, Rock, and Snow, paired with a 3,500 kg braked towing capacity for hauling boats or trailers. The Hydraulic Body Motion Control suspension acts like a virtual sway bar, keeping the vehicle flat in corners while allowing maximum wheel travel for weekend desert adventures.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a dedicated luxury space featuring 8 seats upholstered in premium quilted leather, with the front row benefitting from both heating and ventilation for the Gulf summer. The 12.3-inch infotainment display includes wireless smartphone integration, while the three-zone climate control features dedicated rear vents to ensure all three rows stay cool in 45°C+ temperatures. Acoustic glass and extensive sound dampening isolate the interior from road noise, providing a serene environment for long family road trips.

Safety

The LE Platinum City comes standard with a full suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), including Intelligent Cruise Control and Forward Collision Warning with Emergency Braking. For the high-speed multi-lane highways of the UAE, the Blind Spot Intervention and Lane Departure Prevention systems provide crucial layers of protection. The 360-degree camera system is particularly useful for maneuvering this large SUV in tight urban parking environments in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

The bottom line

This is a prime opportunity for a family or executive buyer to secure the final iteration of the V8 Patrol in its highest luxury specification with below-average mileage for the region.
