Summary

This 2024 Nissan X-Terra in Platinum trim represents a sophisticated yet rugged choice for families across the GCC. With its Four Wheel Drive system and versatile seating for seven, it balances school-run practicalities with the capability needed for desert weekend trips. The grey exterior is a resilient choice for the local climate, masking dust well while maintaining strong resale appeal. This specific listing is a compelling buy as a modern, high-spec SUV that remains mechanically simple enough for long-term regional ownership. For the GCC buyer, the X-Terra offers the ideal middle ground between a road-focused crossover and a heavy-duty off-roader.

This Car vs Other 2024 X Terras

With 66,484 km on the odometer, this vehicle has been driven more than the typical 20,000–25,000 km GCC annual average, likely reflecting the long-distance highway commutes common between major cities like Abu Dhabi and Dubai. This highway-heavy usage often results in less wear on the transmission and brakes compared to stop-start city driving. The Grey exterior is a highly practical choice for the region, offering better heat management and easier maintenance than darker shades in dusty conditions.

PLATINUM vs Lower Trims

The Platinum trim is the flagship of the X-Terra range, providing significant upgrades over the SE and Titanium variants. Key additions include 18-inch machine-cut alloy wheels, premium leather upholstery, and a larger 9-inch touchscreen with built-in Navigation and an 8-speaker Bose audio system. Most importantly for GCC drivers, it features the full Nissan Intelligent Mobility suite, including a 360-degree Intelligent Around View Monitor and specialized drive modes not found on lower trims.

X Terra vs Segment Rivals

The Nissan X-Terra leads rivals like the Toyota Fortuner and Mitsubishi Montero Sport in terms of on-road refinement and cabin technology, offering a more modern infotainment interface and superior acoustic insulation. Its 78-litre fuel tank provides a generous cruising range for long desert highway stretches, a distinct advantage over smaller-tank competitors. While rivals often feel strictly utilitarian, the X-Terra Platinum bridges the gap with a more premium interior finish.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 2.5L engine averages approximately 11.4 L/100km, which is efficient for a 7-seater SUV in GCC stop-start traffic. Nissan’s extensive authorized service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman ensures parts are readily available and maintenance costs remain predictable. As a GCC-spec Japanese SUV, it benefits from strong value retention, typically retaining over 70% of its value after three years in the local market.

Performance & Capability

The 2.5L 4-cylinder engine produces a reliable 165 hp, paired with a smooth 7-speed automatic transmission designed for both highway efficiency and low-end torque. The shift-on-the-fly 4WD system allows for seamless transitions between 2WD for city driving and 4H for sandy tracks, while the 4LO setting provides genuine off-road capability. With 225 mm of ground clearance, it is well-suited for crossing dunes or navigating rocky wadi paths during weekend adventures.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for the extreme heat of the GCC, featuring a high-output air conditioning system with dedicated vents for all three rows to ensure passenger comfort in 45°C+ temperatures. The Platinum trim’s leather seats are power-adjustable, and the theater-style seating arrangement provides excellent visibility for rear passengers. Acoustic glass helps isolate the cabin from wind noise during high-speed highway cruising between Emirates.

Safety

Safety is a priority in the Platinum trim, which includes a comprehensive ADAS suite featuring Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, and Blind Spot Warning—critical for fast-moving multi-lane highway traffic. The 360-degree camera system with Moving Object Detection makes parking this large SUV effortless in tight urban spaces, while the reinforced body structure and multiple airbags provide peace of mind for family transport.

The bottom line

Perfect for the active GCC family, this X-Terra Platinum offers top-tier tech and 4WD capability in a modern, well-maintained package that is ready for both the daily commute and the desert.
