Rolls Royce Cullinan BLACK BADGE

Highlights

• 0–100 km/h in 5.2 seconds
• 600 hp from a 6.7-litre V12
• 900 Nm of torque

Summary

This 2024 Black Badge offers a rare opportunity to bypass lengthy commission waitlists for the most assertive trim in the Rolls-Royce lineup. With 37,000 km, this vehicle has been driven more than a typical garage-queen but remains mechanically young for its peerless V12 powerplant. The Black exterior is the definitive choice for the Black Badge aesthetic, ensuring maximum resale demand in a GCC market that values the 'murdered-out' look. It stands alone in the segment, offering a level of road isolation and prestige that even high-end rivals like the Bentayga cannot match. For a GCC buyer, the unparalleled air suspension is the single most important asset, turning long highway stretches into effortless journeys.

This Car vs Other 2024 Cullinans

While 37,000 km is higher than the strictly collectible examples often found in the UAE, it represents an active and well-maintained history, common for owners who use the Cullinan as a daily executive commuter. Compared to other 2024 listings, this vehicle offers a significant entry point into the current model year without the premium of delivery-mileage pricing. The all-black configuration is a high-liquidity asset in the local market, consistently outperforming lighter colors in resale speed.

BLACK BADGE vs Lower Trims

The Black Badge trim is the high-performance 'alter ego' of the standard Cullinan, adding 37 hp and a critical 50 Nm of additional torque for more responsive overtaking on fast-moving GCC highways. Beyond the darkened Spirit of Ecstasy and chrome-out exterior, it features a sport-tuned version of the Magic Carpet Ride suspension and a more vocal exhaust note when prompted. Inside, you receive the Technical Carbon veneer—a six-layer weave that is much more contemporary and desirable for younger GCC buyers than traditional wood trims.

Cullinan vs Segment Rivals

The Cullinan leads the ultra-luxury SUV segment by offering a V12 engine when the Bentley Bentayga has transitioned toward V8 and Hybrid options. Its proprietary 'Flagbearer' camera system proactively scans the road at up to 100 km/h to prep the suspension, providing a ride quality that is significantly smoother than the sportier Lamborghini Urus. While rivals focus on lap times, the Rolls-Royce offers a 600-litre boot and superior rear-seat isolation, making it the preferred choice for family travel between Emirates.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages roughly 16.0 L/100km, though intensive city traffic in Dubai or Riyadh can see this rise significantly. The vehicle requires 95-octane fuel at a minimum, though 98-octane is recommended to maintain the V12's refinement. In the GCC, Rolls-Royce benefits from a strong authorized service network via AGMC and Abu Dhabi Motors, with typical service intervals managed by the Condition Based Service system. While ultra-luxury vehicles face steep initial depreciation, the Black Badge holds a much higher percentage of its value after three years compared to standard trims due to its high desirability.

Performance & Capability

The 6.7-litre V12 produces a massive 900 Nm of torque, allowing this 2.7-tonne vehicle to reach 100 km/h in just 5.2 seconds with total composure. The 'Everywhere' button simplifies off-road driving, automatically adjusting the air suspension and AWD system for gravel or sand tracks without requiring manual differential locking. It is electronically limited to 250 km/h, a speed it reaches with a hushed cabin that remains isolated from the wind noise typically associated with high-speed desert driving.

Comfort & Cabin

The five-seat Lounge configuration is designed for maximum summer comfort, featuring high-output ventilation and multi-stage massage functions that are essential for the GCC climate. The cabin is lined with box-grain leather and acoustic glass, creating a silent sanctuary even in heavy stop-start traffic. Rear passengers enjoy dedicated climate zones and a powerful cooling system designed to maintain optimal temperatures during peak 50°C summer days.

Safety

Standard safety equipment includes a comprehensive ADAS suite with Night Vision, which is particularly useful for detecting hazards on unlit desert roads. The 360-degree camera system and automated parking assist are vital for navigating this large vehicle through tight urban parking, while adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality handles the fatigue of long highway commutes between Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

The bottom line

For the executive who demands the highest level of presence and power without the wait for a bespoke build, this Black Badge is the ideal high-use luxury asset. It offers the perfect balance of current-year technology and a color-trim combination that is effectively 'recession-proof' in the UAE resale market.
