Tesla Model 3 PERFORMANCE

Highlights

• 0–100 km/h in 3.1 seconds
• 528 km electric range (WLTP)
• 250 kW peak DC charging standard

Summary

This 2024 Model 3 Performance represents the flagship 'Highland' refresh, delivering supercar-level acceleration in a practical sedan body. While its mileage is higher than the typical GCC annual average for a two-year-old car, Teslas are mechanically simpler than petrol rivals, making them exceptionally durable for high-distance commuters between Emirates. The Pearl White Multi-Coat exterior is the premier resale color in the region, offering maximum heat reflection and strong value retention. As a Performance trim, it features the updated adaptive damping and sport-bolstered seats, which are massive upgrades for high-speed highway stability. For any GCC buyer looking to bypass fuel costs without sacrificing executive-level speed, this is a highly capable and modern choice.

This Car vs Other 2024 Model 3s

With 112,000 km in just two years, this vehicle has been used for intensive highway commuting, likely between major GCC hubs like Dubai and Abu Dhabi. While this is above the typical 20,000 km annual average, electric drivetrains lack the complex wear items of internal combustion engines, making mileage less of a mechanical concern. The white exterior is a strategic choice for the local market, as it consistently commands the highest resale demand and handles the summer heat better than darker alternatives.

PERFORMANCE vs Lower Trims

The Performance trim is a significant jump over the Long Range and RWD variants, introducing a dual-motor setup with a specialized rear drive unit that pushes output to 513 hp. Unique to this trim are the 20-inch forged wheels, high-performance brakes, and the new-for-2024 adaptive suspension system that allows for a more refined ride on rougher roads. Inside, you get exclusive sport seats with enhanced lateral support and ventilated cooling, alongside a carbon fiber dash inlay that distinguishes it from the base models.

Model 3 vs Segment Rivals

The Model 3 Performance primarily competes with the BMW i4 M50 and the BYD Seal Performance. It leads the segment in software integration and charging infrastructure, with the proprietary Supercharger network offering unparalleled convenience across the UAE and into Oman. While the BMW focuses more on traditional luxury materials, the Tesla offers superior energy efficiency and a significantly more advanced ADAS suite as standard.

Running Costs & Resale

Running costs are remarkably low, with an official efficiency of roughly 16.7 kWh/100km, translating to a fraction of the cost of a petrol-powered V8 sedan. Tesla's maintenance schedule is minimal, focusing on tire rotations every 10,000 km and cabin filter changes, with no expensive oil or transmission services required. Resale value for the Model 3 remains among the highest for EVs in the GCC, typically retaining about 60% of its value after three years, aided by frequent over-the-air software updates that keep the technology current.

Performance & Capability

Performance is staggering, with a top speed of 262 km/h and an All-Wheel Drive system that provides immense grip during sudden lane changes or in rare wet conditions. Track Mode V3 allows you to customize the handling balance and regenerative braking, making it a versatile tool for both the daily commute and enthusiast driving. The 250 kW DC charging capability means you can add up to 280 km of range in just 15 minutes at a V3 Supercharger, ideal for long-distance cross-border travel.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is centered around a 15.4-inch primary display and a new 8-inch rear passenger screen that provides independent climate and entertainment control. Standard ventilated front seats are a critical feature for the GCC summer, while the acoustic glass throughout significantly reduces highway wind noise compared to previous generations. The 17-speaker premium audio system, designed in-house by Tesla, provides studio-quality sound that rivals much more expensive European luxury sedans.

Safety

Safety is a hallmark of the Model 3, which carries a 5-star Euro NCAP rating and features a high-strength steel and aluminum structure. The standard Autopilot suite includes emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and lane-keep assist, all of which are particularly effective on the high-speed multi-lane highways of the UAE. The low center of gravity provided by the floor-mounted battery pack also results in exceptionally low rollover risk.

The bottom line

This is a rare opportunity to own the latest 'Highland' Performance model, perfectly suited for a high-mileage commuter who values cutting-edge tech and elite acceleration over traditional engine maintenance. Its GCC specification and popular color profile make it a safe long-term investment in the region's evolving used car market.
