Summary

This 2025 Ford Explorer ST represents the high-water mark for American family performance in the GCC, offering a rare combination of 400 horsepower and seven-row practicality. With under 30,000 km, this grey unit is just entering its prime, and the color is a reliable performer for local resale value. Unlike the standard trims, the ST is engineered with sport-tuned suspension and performance braking that makes it as capable on long highway cruises between Emirates as it is agile in city traffic. For the GCC buyer, the standard ventilated seats and powerful tri-zone cooling are essential upgrades that transform summer driving. This is the ideal choice for those who need a family hauler but refuse to sacrifice the driving dynamics of a performance vehicle.

This Car vs Other 2025 Explorers

At 28,803 km, this vehicle sits well below the typical GCC annual average of 20,000–25,000 km, making it a low-mileage standout for a 2025 model. The grey exterior is a highly sought-after, neutral tone in the UAE market, ensuring it holds its appeal better than niche colors at resale. This specific mileage provides a significant head start on the vehicle's long-term mechanical life.

ST vs Lower Trims

The ST is a major leap over the ST-Line, replacing the 2.3L four-cylinder with a 400 hp twin-turbo V6 and adding performance-tuned suspension. Inside, it upgrades the experience with standard ventilated and massaging front seats, which are critical for the GCC summer. You also benefit from exclusive ST-branded leather upholstery, a power-folding third row, and superior 21-inch wheels.

Explorer vs Segment Rivals

While rivals like the Toyota Highlander or Kia Telluride focus purely on efficiency and space, the Explorer ST stands alone with its longitudinal RWD-based platform and massive 400 hp output. It offers a larger 76-liter fuel tank than many competitors, facilitating long-distance desert highway drives without frequent stops. The dedicated sport mode and twin-turbo torque provide overtaking power that naturally aspirated rivals cannot match.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the V6 ST averages around 11.2 L/100km on the highway, though GCC city traffic will see higher figures. Being a GCC-spec vehicle, it benefits from Ford’s extensive authorized service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, maintaining a higher value than imported equivalents. Typical service intervals are every 10,000 km, and parts availability remains strong throughout the region.

Performance & Capability

The 3.0L EcoBoost engine delivers 563 Nm of torque, enabling a 0–100 km/h sprint in just 5.3 seconds and a top speed of 230 km/h. The sport-tuned suspension significantly reduces body roll, making the SUV feel smaller and more controlled during high-speed highway maneuvers. With standard Intelligent All-Wheel Drive and a 2,268 kg towing capacity, it is perfectly suited for weekend family road trips with a boat or trailer in tow.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for GCC family logistics, featuring second-row captain's chairs for easier access to the third row. The tri-zone automatic climate control is specifically calibrated to handle extreme desert heat, supported by dedicated rear-seat vents and ventilated front seats. High-speed highway runs are made quieter by acoustic-laminated glass, while the premium B&O sound system provides a concert-like experience for all seven passengers.

Safety

This ST comes equipped with the full Ford Co-Pilot360 suite, including Blind Spot Information System for fast-moving highway traffic and Lane-Keeping Assist. Standard adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality is a massive benefit for daily commutes between Sharjah and Dubai. Additionally, the 360-degree camera system makes parking this 5-meter SUV effortless in tight urban spaces.

The bottom line

For the active GCC family that values speed and luxury as much as seating capacity, this low-mileage ST is a top-tier performance SUV opportunity.
