Summary

This 2025 Explorer ST offers a rare combination of high-performance driving dynamics and genuine seven-seat utility in the GCC market. With its low mileage and sought-after black finish, this performance SUV presents a compelling case for buyers who need space without sacrificing speed. The ST trim stands out for its unique blend of a sport-tuned chassis and twin-turbo power, making it a leader for long highway hauls across the emirates. For the GCC owner, this vehicle provides the reliability of a massive service network alongside the cooling and comfort tech required for peak summer performance.

This Car vs Other 2025 Explorers

At 28,803 km, this vehicle's mileage is notably lower than the GCC annual average of 20,000–25,000 km, positioning it as a fresh example for a 2025 model year. The black exterior is a high-demand, strong resale color in the local used market, ensuring better value retention compared to niche shades. This specific unit represents an early opportunity to own the refreshed 2025 iteration with significantly reduced wear.

ST vs Lower Trims

The ST is the true performance flagship, standardizing the 400 hp V6 that is only an option on the Platinum and unavailable on the ST-Line or Active. Beyond power, it adds critical hardware like performance-tuned dampers, stiffer springs, and a quad-tip exhaust system for a more aggressive soundtrack. Inside, ST buyers enjoy ventilated front seats and a premium B&O sound system as standard, features that are essential for long-distance GCC driving comfort.

Explorer vs Segment Rivals

Compared to rivals like the Kia Telluride or Honda Pilot, the Explorer ST offers a significant power advantage with its twin-turbocharged V6, whereas competitors focus purely on mass-market utility. Its rear-biased all-wheel-drive platform provides a sportier handling profile that outperforms the front-drive biased platforms typical of the mid-size SUV segment. Additionally, the standard Class III towing package gives it a practical edge for hauling boats or jet skis common in coastal GCC cities.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 3.0L EcoBoost averages around 11.2 L/100 km combined, though GCC highway cruising can improve these figures. Ford maintains one of the most extensive authorized service networks across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, ensuring parts availability is never a concern for long-term owners. Resale values for the ST trim remain robust in the GCC, typically depreciating less sharply than luxury-oriented European counterparts due to its specialized performance appeal.

Performance & Capability

The Explorer ST delivers a verified top speed of 230 km/h, supported by 563 Nm of torque that makes highway overtaking effortless even when fully loaded with seven passengers. The 10-speed automatic transmission is specifically calibrated for the ST's power curve, offering rapid shifts via steering-mounted paddles. Multiple selectable drive modes, including a dedicated Sport mode, allow the vehicle to adapt from city traffic to high-speed cross-border journeys with ease.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for extreme GCC heat, featuring a powerful multi-zone climate control system with dedicated rear vents for all three rows. The ST-exclusive ActiveX seating with Miko inserts provides a premium feel that stays cooler than traditional leather in direct sunlight. Technology is led by a 13.2-inch touchscreen and a digital cockpit, while acoustic glass ensures a quiet environment isolated from highway wind noise.

Safety

This ST comes equipped with the full Ford Co-Pilot360 suite, including a 360-degree camera which is vital for maneuvering a large SUV in tight city parking. Standard safety tech includes blind-spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control, both of which are highly beneficial for the fast-moving, multi-lane highway traffic typical of the GCC. Stability control and trailer sway control also come standard, providing peace of mind during weekend trips or when towing.

The bottom line

This 2025 Ford Explorer ST is the ideal choice for a performance-minded family buyer who wants the latest tech and low mileage in a high-resale GCC package.
