• 543 litres boot space (seats up)
• Extensive GCC authorised service network

Summary

This 1-year-old Kia Sportage Hybrid offers a nearly-new opportunity in a market where fuel efficiency is increasingly valued for city commuting. In the GCC, the white exterior is a top-tier choice for heat rejection and exceptionally strong resale value. This SX trim balances premium features with the ruggedness of All-Wheel Drive, making it a versatile pick for both the daily Dubai-Sharjah commute and weekend highway trips. Compared to its peers, the Sportage stands out with its bold styling and a cabin that feels significantly more modern than more conservative Japanese rivals. For a buyer looking for a modern SUV with the backing of a massive local service network, this is a highly logical choice.

This Car vs Other 2025 Sportages

As a 1-year-old vehicle, this Sportage is in its prime, offering the latest generation's tech without the initial drive-away depreciation. While many Sportages in the UAE are purely petrol-powered, this hybrid variant provides a distinct advantage in fuel costs and smoother low-speed torque for city driving. The white paint is the safest and most sought-after color for resale in the GCC, ensuring high demand when you eventually decide to upgrade.

SX vs Lower Trims

The SX trim upgrades the experience with essential GCC comforts, including a larger panoramic curved display and more advanced driver assistance systems than the base LX. It typically adds premium interior finishes and larger alloy wheels that fill the arches for a more assertive stance. For the serious buyer, the inclusion of All-Wheel Drive on this hybrid model provides superior stability on gravel or during the rare but heavy rain showers seen across the region.

Sportage vs Segment Rivals

Against the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid and Hyundai Tucson Hybrid, the Sportage leads with a more driver-focused, tech-forward interior and superior rear-seat legroom. While the RAV4 is a staple of the region, the Sportage offers a more premium cabin feel and a more engaging 6-speed automatic transmission compared to the CVT found in many rivals. Its cargo capacity is among the best in class, making it a more practical family hauler for long road trips.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for this hybrid powertrain typically averages around 6.2 L/100km, offering significant savings in stop-start traffic in cities like Riyadh or Dubai. Kia's authorized service network is one of the most robust in the GCC, with centers readily available in every major city from Kuwait to Muscat. The Sportage historically retains approximately 68% of its value after three years in the local market, outperforming many European competitors. Parts availability is excellent, ensuring that long-term maintenance remains affordable and straightforward.

Performance & Capability

The 180 hp hybrid system provides immediate electric torque, which is perfect for quick overtakes on fast-moving highways like E11. The All-Wheel Drive system is road-biased but offers the necessary traction for sandy parking lots or light gravel tracks during weekend outings. With a top speed of approximately 181 km/h and a refined 6-speed automatic, it remains composed and quiet even at the higher speed limits common on inter-emirate routes. It strikes a fine balance between a comfortable city cruiser and a capable long-distance tourer.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for the high-temperature GCC climate, featuring a powerful air conditioning system with dedicated rear vents to keep all five passengers cool. The 543-litre boot easily accommodates a family's worth of luggage or bulk grocery runs, expanding significantly with flat-folding rear seats. Acoustic glass and high-quality insulation help isolate the cabin from the heat and road noise during long desert highway drives. The modern digital cockpit puts navigation and media at your fingertips with a crisp, high-resolution interface.

Safety

This Sportage comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of safety tech, including Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, which is vital for the multi-lane highways of the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Standard features like Lane Following Assist and Forward Collision-Avoidance with pedestrian detection provide peace of mind during congested commutes. The All-Wheel Drive system works in tandem with stability control to ensure the vehicle remains planted on varied surfaces, while a full array of airbags protects all occupants.

The bottom line

This 2025 Sportage Hybrid is the ideal choice for a tech-savvy family in the GCC who wants to save on fuel without sacrificing the reliability and resale strength of a major brand. It offers a near-new experience with the most desirable local spec and color combination available today.
