Summary

This 2025 Nissan Patrol represents the entry point into the all-new seventh-generation (Y63) era, trading the thirsty V8 of old for a modern and efficient 3.8L V6. As an SE Platinum City trim, it bridges the gap between rugged utility and high-end luxury, offering premium cabin materials without the maintenance complexity of the twin-turbo LE models. The Grey exterior is a versatile, high-resale choice for the UAE, effectively hiding the inevitable dust of desert life while maintaining a sharp presence on the highway. With roughly 30,000 km, this unit has been broken in during its first year and remains well within the window for worry-free ownership under local service contracts. For the GCC buyer, the Patrol remains the gold standard for daily reliability, comfortably handling 50°C summers and long weekend road trips across the emirates.

This Car vs Other 2025 Patrols

With just over 30,000 km in its first year, this vehicle aligns with the higher-than-average annual mileage common for GCC highway commuters. It represents a significant saving over a brand-new showroom unit while retaining the latest Y63 technology and safety suite. The Grey finish is one of the most practical and sought-after colors in the UAE used market, ensuring faster resale than more niche paint options.

SE PLATINUM CITY vs Lower Trims

The SE Platinum City trim significantly elevates the cabin experience over the SE Titanium by adding genuine quilted leather upholstery and a massage function for the front seats. It also introduces the 3D Around View Monitor with 'Invisible Hood View' and the innovative Biometric Cooling system, which uses infrared sensors to detect passenger body temperature and adjust airflow automatically. Additional premium touches include 20-inch machined alloy wheels and a full-color Head-Up Display that are missing on entry-level XE and SE T2 variants.

Patrol vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 Series, the Patrol Y63 offers a more tech-focused cabin with its massive twin 14.3-inch displays and superior 12-speaker Klipsch audio system. Its 253 mm ground clearance is 18 mm higher than the Land Cruiser's standard height, giving it a slight advantage in deep sand. While the Land Cruiser focuses on mechanical simplicity, the Patrol leads the segment in daily ride comfort and high-speed highway composure.

Running Costs & Resale

The new 3.8L V6 provides a noticeable efficiency gain over the previous generation, with real-world highway figures averaging around 10L/100km. Nissan's massive service network across all GCC countries ensures that parts and expert maintenance are available in every major city from Abu Dhabi to Riyadh. As a regional icon, the Patrol consistently maintains one of the highest resale values in the Middle East, typically retaining 65–70% of its value after three years of ownership.

Performance & Capability

Producing 316 hp and 386 Nm of torque, the naturally aspirated V6 is paired with a smooth 9-speed automatic transmission designed for both city refinement and desert power. The 4WD system includes six selectable drive modes—including Sand, Rock, and Mud—allowing the vehicle to transition seamlessly from Dubai's fast-moving highways to weekend dune bashing. With 253 mm of ground clearance and a dedicated rear pintle hook, it remains fully capable of towing heavy trailers or navigating rough wadi terrain.

Comfort & Cabin

The 8-seat configuration is tailored for large families, featuring a power-folding third row and dedicated rear climate zones with roof-mounted vents to combat the GCC summer. The Platinum City cabin is a sanctuary of comfort, featuring ventilated and heated front seats with multi-way lumbar support and massage functions for long-distance relief. Tech-savvy passengers will appreciate the integrated 12.8-inch rear entertainment screens and a premium Klipsch audio system that provides theater-like sound quality.

Safety

This trim comes equipped with Nissan’s ProPILOT autonomous safety suite, including Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning with pedestrian detection, and Lane Keep Assist—vital tools for navigating busy multi-lane highways like Sheikh Zayed Road. The safety package is rounded out by a 360-degree camera system, Blind Spot Intervention, and a comprehensive 6-airbag system, ensuring maximum protection for all eight occupants during cross-border trips.

The bottom line

For the buyer who wants the prestige and technology of the all-new Patrol without the premium price of a V6 Twin-Turbo LE, this SE Platinum City is the ideal balance of luxury and long-term mechanical simplicity.
