Summary

This 2025 Hilux GR Sport represents the absolute pinnacle of Toyota's mid-size pickup range, combining legendary reliability with Gazoo Racing-inspired performance upgrades. As a one-year-old vehicle in the GCC market, it offers the benefit of the latest styling and tech while bypassing the steep first-year depreciation typically seen in high-trim trucks. The black exterior is a perennial favorite for resale in the region, ensuring long-term value retention that consistently leads the segment. With its unique wide-track suspension and increased torque, this specific trim is built to handle both high-speed highway commutes and challenging desert terrain with equal composure. For a buyer in the UAE or Saudi Arabia, the combination of Toyota's massive service footprint and the GR Sport's elevated specification makes this a pragmatic yet prestigious choice.

This Car vs Other 2025 Hiluxes

At just one year old, this Hilux is in the prime of its lifecycle for the GCC used market, where annual mileages often reach 25,000 km. Its black paintwork is a high-demand choice in the region, significantly strengthening its resale case compared to niche colors. Choosing a 2025 model ensures you receive the most refined version of the current generation, featuring the latest cabin tech and safety software.

GR SPORT vs Lower Trims

The GR Sport adds significant mechanical and aesthetic value over the Adventure trim, most notably a wider track and a specialized suspension setup for improved high-speed stability. Inside, the cabin is upgraded with suede-bolstered sports seats, red contrast stitching, and a premium 360-degree camera system that is essential for navigating tight city parking and off-road obstacles alike. These factory upgrades command a higher premium at resale than aftermarket modifications.

Hilux vs Segment Rivals

The Hilux leads segment rivals like the Mitsubishi L200 and Nissan Navara in terms of regional parts availability and authorized service density across the GCC. While competitors focus on car-like comfort, the Hilux retains a robust body-on-frame construction that provides a superior 3,500 kg towing capacity. Its 2.8L diesel engine is specifically tuned for durability under the extreme heat of Gulf summers, outlasting rivals in high-stress work or desert environments.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 2.8L diesel engine averages around 8.1 L/100km, offering a significant range advantage for long cross-border drives between emirates or GCC countries. Toyota remains the highest-retaining brand in the UAE market, typically holding approximately 87% of its value after the first year and 65% after three years. The extensive network of authorized service centers ensures that maintenance is straightforward whether you are in Dubai, Riyadh, or Muscat.

Performance & Capability

The 2.8L turbo-diesel produces a robust 201 hp and 500 Nm of torque, ensuring effortless overtaking on fast-moving UAE highways even when fully loaded. Its selectable four-wheel-drive system and 265mm ground clearance allow it to transition seamlessly from urban roads to soft sand dunes. The GR-specific suspension tuning reduces body roll, providing a more planted and confident feel during high-speed desert traverses.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is tailored for the GCC climate, featuring a powerful air conditioning system with dedicated vents for rear passengers and heat-insulated glass. The GR Sport trim includes exclusive leather and suede seats that stay cooler in the summer sun compared to full leather alternatives. Tech highlights include a large touchscreen with smartphone integration and a 360-degree monitor that simplifies maneuvering in both crowded city centers and off-road trails.

Safety

Standard safety equipment on the GR Sport includes the Toyota Safety Sense suite, featuring pre-collision systems and lane departure alerts which are vital for long desert highway drives. The inclusion of a 360-degree camera and blind-spot monitoring provides critical visibility on multi-lane roads like Sheikh Zayed Road. Seven airbags and a reinforced chassis ensure top-tier protection for all five occupants.

The bottom line

This 2025 Hilux GR Sport is the ideal choice for the GCC buyer who demands a Dakar-proven workhorse with the premium features of a flagship SUV. It offers a rare opportunity to own a nearly-new, top-spec pickup with the region's best resale value and service support.
