Summary

This 2025 Toyota Hilux GR Sport arrives as a nearly new example of the world's most trusted pickup, benefiting from the top-tier Gazoo Racing enhancements that differentiate it from the standard workhorse fleet. With only one year of age, it offers a significant advantage for GCC buyers looking for a lifestyle-focused truck that avoids the initial steep depreciation of a showroom-fresh vehicle. The Black exterior remains a perennial favorite for resale in the UAE and Saudi markets, lending the aggressive GR body kit an understated, premium look. While rivals focus on car-like manners, the Hilux remains the king of durability, backed by the most extensive authorized service network in the Middle East. It is the definitive choice for those who need a vehicle capable of heavy desert duty and cross-border logistics without sacrificing modern cabin tech.

This Car vs Other 2025 Hiluxs

At just one year old, this Hilux sits in the sweet spot of the used market, offering the latest technical updates with very little wear. In a region where many pickups are used for heavy commercial work, a lifestyle-oriented GR Sport typically sees more pavement miles, making it a cleaner long-term prospect. The Black finish is a high-demand resale color in the GCC, ensuring it holds its value better than more niche enthusiast shades.

GR SPORT vs Lower Trims

The GR Sport moves beyond the popular Adventure trim by adding a wide-tread body, unique 17-inch alloy wheels, and a Dakar-inspired front grille that commands much more presence. Mechanically, it gains heavy-duty monotube shock absorbers for better high-speed stability on sand, along with an upgraded interior featuring leather and suede GR-branded seats. These specific lifestyle features are highly sought after in the secondary market, often fetching a premium over the standard SR5 or GLX models.

Hilux vs Segment Rivals

When cross-shopped against the Ford Ranger or Mitsubishi L200, the Hilux leads with its unmatched parts availability across every corner of the GCC. While the Ranger offers more engine variety, the Hilux’s 2.8L diesel is a proven entity that local mechanics know by heart, ensuring lower long-term downtime. Its 80-liter fuel tank is also a critical advantage for long desert highway stretches between major cities.

Running Costs & Resale

The 2.8L turbo-diesel engine is remarkably efficient for its class, achieving approximately 8.1 L/100km on the highway, though GCC stop-start city traffic will see this climb. Toyota's authorized service centers are available in virtually every major city from Dubai to Riyadh, making maintenance exceptionally convenient. In the GCC market, the Hilux maintains one of the lowest annual depreciation rates, typically losing only 8-10% of its value per year, significantly outperforming its American and European competitors.

Performance & Capability

With 550 Nm of torque available from low RPMs, this truck is built for effortless overtaking on the E11 and heavy-duty towing of boats or trailers. The 265 mm ground clearance and specialized GR suspension provide the necessary hardware for serious weekend dune bashing or navigating rocky wadis. Standard four-wheel drive with a rear differential lock ensures that even the softest sand won't stop your progress during desert excursions.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is tailored for the GCC climate, featuring a high-output air conditioning system and rear vents to keep all five passengers cool during the peak of summer. The GR Sport trim upgrades the experience with a premium 8-inch infotainment system and a 360-degree camera, making it much easier to park in tight urban spots. Improved acoustic glass helps dampen the characteristic diesel engine hum, providing a quieter environment for long-distance family trips.

Safety

This trim is equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including seven airbags and vehicle stability control, providing essential protection for both highway and off-road driving. Features like blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are particularly valuable on the UAE’s fast-moving multi-lane highways. Toyota Safety Sense technologies, including pre-collision warnings, come standard, ensuring a level of driver assistance that rivals often relegate to expensive option packages.

The bottom line

For the GCC enthusiast who needs a daily-driven truck that can handle a Friday morning in the dunes, this one-year-old GR Sport is the ultimate turn-key solution.
