Summary

This 2025 Ford Explorer ST represents the high-performance peak of the mid-size SUV segment, offering sports-car acceleration in a versatile seven-seat body. With just over 8,000 km, this GCC-spec example is effectively near-new, avoiding the steep initial depreciation of a showroom purchase while remaining well below the average annual mileage for the region. The White exterior is a strategic choice for the GCC, offering the best heat reflection during summer months and securing the highest possible resale demand. For a buyer who needs family practicality but refuses to sacrifice driving engagement, this AWD performance SUV delivers a refined highway experience and meaningful overtaking power. It stands out as a more athletic alternative to traditional family haulers, supported by Ford's extensive service presence across the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

This Car vs Other 2025 Ford Explorers

With only 8,142 km on the odometer, this vehicle sits significantly lower than the typical 20,000 km annual average for used cars in the GCC. The White exterior is the most popular resale color in the regional market, offering a distinct advantage in future value retention and cabin cooling efficiency. As a current-year model with minimal use, it offers a showroom-quality experience at a more competitive secondary market price point.

ST vs Lower Trims

The ST is a dedicated performance machine, replacing the 2.3L four-cylinder from the ST-Line with a potent 400 hp twin-turbo V6 and sport-tuned suspension. Inside, it adds premium standard features including massaged front seats, a 14-speaker B&O sound system, and quad chrome exhaust tips that distinguish it from the appearance-only ST-Line package. It also features larger performance brakes and a 13.2-inch touchscreen with the latest digital cockpit interface as standard.

Explorer vs Segment Rivals

The Explorer ST leads its class in raw performance, comfortably out-accelerating rivals like the Kia Telluride and Toyota Highlander. While competitors focus on soft-road comfort, the ST provides a driver-centric chassis and superior overtaking power for long desert highway commutes. Its All-Wheel Drive system is paired with a specific Terrain Management System that handles gravel and light sand more confidently than road-biased competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

The 3.0L EcoBoost engine requires high-grade petrol to achieve its 400 hp rating, with real-world fuel consumption averaging approximately 11.8 L/100km on open highways. Being a GCC-spec vehicle, it is fully supported by authorized service networks like Al Tayer Motors and Premier Motors, with standard intervals at 16,000 km or one year. The ST trim holds its value better than entry-level trims in the UAE, typically retaining about 80% of its value after the first year.

Performance & Capability

Equipped with a 10-speed automatic and Intelligent AWD, the ST hits 100 km/h in just 5.5 seconds, matching the performance of many premium European SUVs. It features six selectable drive modes—including Sport, Tow/Haul, and Off-Road—allowing it to adapt instantly to different GCC terrains. The sport-calibrated steering and stiffer damping provide a stable, car-like feel even during high-speed highway cruising across the Emirates.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for GCC summers, featuring standard ventilated front seats and a powerful tri-zone climate control system with dedicated rear vents. The seven-seat layout includes power-folding third-row seats and second-row captain's chairs, making it ideal for large family road trips. Acoustic glass helps maintain a quiet environment, shielding passengers from road noise and high exterior temperatures during midday drives.

Safety

Standard safety includes the Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist+ suite, featuring Adaptive Cruise Control with Lane Centering which is essential for long desert highway stretches. It also includes a 360-degree camera system for easier parking in tight city spaces and Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) to manage fast-moving highway traffic. The robust airbag system and stability control provide a 5-star safety foundation for family security.

The bottom line

For the family buyer who wants sports-sedan performance without losing seven-seat utility, this low-mileage 2025 ST is the most complete performance SUV available in the GCC market today.
