Summary

This 2026 Ford Explorer ST offers a rare combination of performance and low-mileage reliability, with just 716 km on the clock. As the performance leader of the Explorer range, the ST trim adds significant mechanical depth including a sport-tuned suspension and a high-output V6 that rivals luxury European crossovers. The Grey exterior is a highly practical choice for the GCC, resisting the visibility of desert dust while maintaining strong resale demand in the local market. For a buyer seeking the ultimate family cruiser that doesn't sacrifice driving dynamics, this near-new GCC-spec SUV represents a significant saving over a showroom-fresh alternative.

This Car vs Other 2026 Explorers

With only 716 km, this vehicle is effectively in showroom condition, far below the typical 20,000 km annual average for SUVs in the UAE. The Grey paintwork is a strategic choice for the region, offering a balance of heat reflection and high resale liquidity. Choosing a GCC-spec model ensures the cooling systems and electronics are fully optimized for extreme summer temperatures, a critical advantage over imported alternatives.

ST vs Lower Trims

The ST is a major mechanical step up from the ST-Line and Active trims, replacing the 4-cylinder engine with a 400 hp twin-turbo V6. It features exclusive performance hardware including a sport-tuned suspension, larger 21-inch wheels, and upgraded front brakes. Inside, the ST adds high-demand features like ventilated front seats, a 14-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system, and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster as standard.

Explorer vs Segment Rivals

The Explorer ST leads competitors like the Toyota Highlander and Honda Pilot in raw power, offering a performance-focused drivetrain that those rivals do not match. Its 5,000-lb towing capacity makes it a more versatile tool for weekend trips to the coast with jet skis or trailers. While others focus purely on utility, the Explorer ST balances seven-seat practicality with the driving character of a sport-crossover.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the ST's 3.0L V6 typically averages around 11.8 L/100km combined, with highway cruising offering better efficiency for long-distance trips across the Emirates. Ford's extensive service network across the UAE and wider GCC ensures that parts and expert maintenance are always accessible. While performance trims generally depreciate faster than base models, the extremely low mileage and GCC specification of this ST will help it retain a premium in the used market.

Performance & Capability

The 3.0L EcoBoost V6 delivers an authoritative 400 hp and 563 Nm of torque, providing effortless overtaking power on fast-moving highways like the E11. The intelligent All-Wheel Drive system is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission that is specifically tuned for crisp, responsive shifts. Selectable drive modes allow the vehicle to adapt instantly from smooth city commuting to more demanding sandy or gravel tracks during weekend excursions.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for GCC family life, featuring standard ventilated front seats and dedicated rear climate controls to handle the summer heat. The seven-seat layout remains practical, offering 461 litres of cargo space even when all three rows are occupied. Long drives are made more comfortable by the acoustic-laminated glass, which significantly reduces wind and road noise at highway speeds.

Safety

The Explorer ST comes equipped with a comprehensive ADAS suite including blind-spot monitoring, which is essential for multi-lane highway traffic. Standard safety features include a 360-degree camera for easier parking in tight urban spaces, adaptive cruise control for long desert drives, and multiple airbags providing protection for all three rows of passengers.

The bottom line

This is the perfect opportunity for a performance-minded family buyer to secure the top-tier Explorer trim with delivery mileage at a significant market advantage.
