Nissan Patrol LE PLATINUM CITY 3.5L

Highlights

• Genuine off-road rated
• Lowest depreciation in class
• Top-tier audio system standard

Summary

This latest-generation V6 configuration offers a compelling alternative to the traditional V8, delivering the torque required for regional terrain while providing significantly improved fuel efficiency for city commuting in Dubai or Riyadh. As a top-tier trim in a metallic black finish, this vehicle occupies the most desirable segment of the local resale market where dark shades on flagship SUVs command premium prices. The combination of 7-seat versatility and high-end tech makes it an ideal choice for large families who require a vehicle capable of transitioning from school runs to cross-border desert expeditions. Choosing a GCC-spec model ensures the cooling systems and radiator capacity are specifically engineered for the 50-degree summer heat common in the region. This particular listing represents one of the most mechanically robust and culturally iconic vehicles available in the Middle East today. Buying a current-year model means you are benefiting from the latest safety and connectivity suites that are often missing from older iterations of this legendary platform.

This Car vs Other 2026 Patrols

Being a 2026 model, this vehicle is essentially at the very beginning of its lifecycle, meaning the mileage relative to the GCC average of 25,000 km per year will be exceptionally low. In the local market, a fresh model year with minimal road time is highly sought after as it maximizes the remaining factory warranty and service contract validity. The black exterior is one of the top three resale colors for this specific model in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, often fetching a higher price than more niche colors when it comes time to trade in. Most 2026 models in the region are purchased as long-term family investments, so finding an example in this trim level ensures you have the most complete version of the vehicle available for this year. The regional GCC specification is a critical advantage here, as it ensures the air conditioning and powertrain cooling are optimized for our specific environment.

LE PLATINUM CITY vs Lower Trims

The LE Platinum City is the comprehensive flagship trim that distinguishes itself from lower variants through a focus on both aesthetic presence and cabin technology. While lower trims might offer the same rugged 4WD hardware, the Platinum City adds the 'City' bumper design which provides a more sophisticated, streamlined look suitable for valet arrival at high-end venues. Inside, you move from standard materials to premium quilted leather and genuine wood inserts that elevate the environment for long-distance travel. This trim specifically includes the 360-degree Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection, which is nearly essential for maneuvering a vehicle of this size in tight mall parking structures. You also benefit from the highest-tier Bose audio system and ventilated seating for both the driver and front passenger, features that are often optional or entirely absent on mid-range trims.

Patrol vs Segment Rivals

The primary rival for this vehicle in the GCC has always been the Toyota Land Cruiser, and while both are legends, this model often leads in providing a softer, more car-like ride quality on paved highways. Compared to the Chevrolet Tahoe or Ford Expedition, this vehicle offers a more dedicated off-road heritage with a shorter wheelbase that makes it more agile in deep sand dunes. It also boasts one of the largest fuel tanks in its class, a massive benefit for those driving the long stretches between Abu Dhabi and the Saudi border. The interior ergonomics are often cited as being more intuitive than its American rivals, with a focus on tactile buttons for climate control that are easy to use even in high temperatures. For the family buyer, the ease of access to the third row remains a benchmark in this segment.

Running Costs & Resale

Historically, this model has the lowest depreciation rate of almost any vehicle sold in the GCC, often retaining up to 85% of its value after the first year and nearly 60% after three or four years. Fuel consumption for the V6 petrol engine is respectable for a large SUV, averaging around 11 to 12 liters per 100km on the highway, though this will increase in heavy stop-start traffic in downtown Dubai. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km, and because Nissan has one of the most extensive authorized service networks across Riyadh, Kuwait City, and Muscat, maintenance is never a logistical challenge. Parts are exceptionally easy to source both within and outside the dealer network, which keeps long-term repair costs lower than European luxury alternatives. Being a GCC-spec vehicle, it retains the highest possible trade-in value at any major dealership in the region.

Performance & Capability

The V6 powertrain in this iteration is paired with a highly responsive automatic transmission and a sophisticated Four-Wheel Drive system that includes a low-range transfer case for serious off-roading. With multiple drive modes including Sand, On-Road, Rock, and Snow, the vehicle electronically adjusts throttle response and traction control to suit the terrain. The ground clearance is among the best in the SUV/Crossover category, allowing you to navigate high dunes or rocky wadis with confidence. On the highway, the engine provides ample power for overtaking at 120 km/h, remaining quiet and composed even at high speeds. The towing capacity is sufficient for hauling large boat trailers or horse boxes, making it a versatile tool for weekend hobbies. The suspension layout is specifically tuned to soak up regional road imperfections, providing a 'magic carpet' feel that is the hallmark of the Platinum series.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a true 7-seater, with a third row that can actually accommodate adults for shorter trips across the city. Air conditioning is a standout feature, with a dual-zone system and dedicated rear vents that can pull the cabin temperature down from 50 degrees to a comfortable 22 in a matter of minutes. Sophisticated sound insulation keeps the wind noise and tire roar out, creating a serene environment for the 13-speaker premium audio system to shine. The infotainment screen is large and highly visible even in direct midday sun, featuring full integration for modern smartphones. Storage is abundant, with a large center console box that often includes cooling functionality to keep drinks cold during summer drives. Large windows and a high seating position provide a commanding view of the road, which helps reduce fatigue during long inter-city commutes.

Safety

Safety is paramount in this trim, which comes standard with the full Nissan Intelligent Mobility suite. This include Intelligent Cruise Control, which is a life-saver on long desert highways, as well as Blind Spot Intervention to help navigate the multi-lane highways of the UAE safely. High-speed emergency braking and lane departure prevention systems work silently in the background to provide an extra layer of protection for your family. The vehicle's construction utilizes high-strength steel in critical zones, and it is equipped with a comprehensive airbag system covering all three rows. For those towing or driving in heavy wind, the trailer sway control and electronic stability programs ensure the vehicle remains planted and predictable. This level of safety technology is standard on the Platinum City, whereas it is often a paid extra for many of its European competitors.

The bottom line

This 2026 Platinum City is the definitive choice for a buyer who wants the most prestigious version of the region's favorite SUV with zero mileage-related wear. It represents a secure investment in a vehicle that offers unmatched reliability, high resale value, and the full luxury features expected in the premium GCC market.
