Summary

This brand-new 2026 Toyota Fortuner EXR is the definitive choice for GCC buyers seeking bulletproof reliability in a versatile seven-seat package. As a zero-age vehicle, it offers the peace of mind that comes with a fresh factory warranty and a clean history, ideal for families who prioritize longevity. The white exterior is a strategic selection for the local market, as it effectively reflects heat and ensures the highest possible resale value across the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Balancing daily urban utility with genuine off-road hardware, this SUV stands ready for both the morning school run and weekend desert escapes. With Toyota's unparalleled parts availability, this is one of the most cost-effective long-term ownership prospects in the region.

This Car vs Other 2026 Fortuners

As a brand-new vehicle, this Fortuner carries zero mileage, providing a significant advantage over even slightly used current-year models in the GCC market. In a region where average annual mileage is exceptionally high, starting with a fresh odometer ensures full warranty protection and maximum longevity. The white exterior further strengthens its case, as it remains the most sought-after color for heat management and future resale ease.

EXR vs Lower Trims

The EXR trim serves as the essential gateway to Toyota's 4x4 capability, offering a part-time four-wheel-drive system and a rear differential lock that lower rear-wheel-drive base models lack. Inside, it adds an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, which is a major upgrade for daily connectivity. It also features 17-inch alloy wheels and cruise control as standard, providing a more refined highway experience than basic workhorse variants.

Fortuner vs Segment Rivals

The Fortuner leads its segment rivals, such as the Mitsubishi Montero Sport and Nissan X-Terra, by offering superior body-on-frame durability derived from the Hilux platform. Its 80-litre fuel tank provides a greater touring range for long desert highway drives compared to many car-based crossovers. Furthermore, Toyota's massive authorized service network across the Gulf gives it a logistical advantage that no other rival can currently match.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 2.7L engine averages approximately 10.3 to 10.5 L/100km, which is efficient for a seven-seat SUV in GCC stop-start traffic. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it benefits from the highest resale retention rates in the region, typically depreciating significantly slower than European or American-spec competitors. Service intervals are standardized at 10,000 km, and with authorized centers available in every major GCC city, maintenance is remarkably straightforward.

Performance & Capability

The Fortuner is equipped with a genuine part-time 4WD system including a low-range transfer case, making it far more capable on sand and rough trails than typical family crossovers. The 2.7L 4-cylinder engine produces 164 horsepower and 245 Nm of torque, focused on low-end reliability and durability in extreme heat. Its body-on-frame construction ensures it can handle the rigors of unpaved desert roads while maintaining a stable cruising speed on the 140 km/h motorways connecting the Emirates.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for seven passengers across three rows, with a dedicated rear air conditioning system and vents that are essential for the GCC's 45°C+ summer peaks. Fabric seats are chosen for their heat-resistant properties, remaining comfortable even after the car has been parked in direct sunlight. Technology highlights include the 8-inch display, rear parking sensors, and a multi-function steering wheel that ensures all controls are within easy reach during long family road trips.

Safety

Safety is managed by a suite of active systems including Vehicle Stability Control, Traction Control, and Hill-start Assist, which are particularly useful on shifting sand surfaces. Occupant protection is provided by dual front airbags and a driver's knee airbag as standard. The inclusion of ISOFIX child seat anchors and a tire pressure monitoring system makes it a secure choice for families traversing high-speed GCC highways.

The bottom line

This brand-new 2026 EXR is the smartest entry point into authentic 4x4 ownership, offering a zero-mileage start and Toyota's legendary resale security in the most popular GCC color.
