2017 Audi RS Q5 heading for Geneva with 450 horses

We’ve been anticipating the reveal of the 2017 Audi RS Q5 since we first heard about it a few months ago. Now we’ve heard how much horsepower is sent to all four wheels and we crave for it and so should you.

Before we get to the juicy part, Audi hasn’t exactly confirmed that this model will be on show during open hours. However, Audi Sport boss Stephan Winkelmann mentioned that a Q5 sized vehicle will be present during the event.

450 horsepower is how many horses will run through the veins of the 2017 Audi RS Q5, but it’s unknown exactly what engine generates all that power. There are two potential candidates, a Porsche borrowed 2.9-litre V6 or a tuned version of the SQ5’s 3-litre V6.

With that in mind, performance figures also remain a mystery. Top speed should surpass the 250 km/h mark and accelerate from standstill to 100 could dip below the five-second mark.

No solid release date is set in stone neither has a price tag. Once launched, though, be on the lookout for other RS badges added to the rest of the Audi Q series.

On top of that, what else in store for Audi Sport’s street legal division? Possibly a ludicrously powerful all-wheel drive hypercar sitting above the Audi R8? One can dream.

More shall be revealed come Geneva whether it’s actually there are not.

In the meantime, we not check out our inventory of used Audi Q5 for sale in Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi.
