2017 McLaren MSO HS officially debuts!

Last week, rumours spilt out online of a new high-performance McLaren beast was on its way out of the factory doors. With little information and a single picture of it resting inside what appears to be a factory.

Those rumours were 100% correct, as the British manufacturer not only confirmed it’s existence, they’ve provided additional details and pictures of the mythical creature. Based on the Super Series chassis which also appears on 650S and 675LT models, only a single unit was to be produced for a special customer.

On top of the one unit, Mclaren wanted more than one person to enjoy the MSO HS and decided to build an additional 24 units. Much like the one customer who ordered the bespoke Aston Martin, fingers crossed they won’t be mad with the British brand.

Most if not all of the rumoured gear was spot on. 679 horses will escape through the tailpipes of a 3.8-litre twin turbocharged V8 petrol motor mounted behind the seats. Compared to the 675LT, that’s an additional 13 hp.

As you can tell from the outside, this particular model features an upgraded aero kit tuned perfectly to slice its way through the air as the new front bumper, side skirts, roof scoop and splitter are all part of that. Then there is the P1 GTR fixed rear wing bolted to the back to increase downforce at high speeds.

Inside, there is no leather to be seen. Only Alcantara lines both the seats, dashboard and steering wheel. Infotainment and other gadgets are retained all complemented with lightweight carbon fibre.

No price tag has been revealed nor has availability.
