2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS boasts 700 hp

Unveiled last week at a video game convention of all places, the 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS shocked the audience and car enthusiasts around the world with its stunning looks. But there is more to this beast than just a rear spoiler.

During the event, select individuals were invited to ride in the passenger seat of the 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS, and those lucky few were treated to some interesting information that will knock you for six.

First of all, power is drawn from a 3.8-litre turbocharged flat six cylinder petrol motor rated at a mega 700 horsepower! In comparison, the current GT3 generates a mere 500hp.

With that in mind, 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS models need just 2.9 seconds to launch to 100 km/h before maxing out at 341 km/h.

We’ve also heard that the engine revs up to 7,200 rpm and peak downforce is estimated at 349 kilos. To help the vehicle stick to the ground, the front end uses 265/30 wheels and the back sports a pair of 325/30.

Underneath its striking bodywork is rear-axle steering, torque vectoring and a variable locking rear differential.

It’s unconfirmed when the 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS will hit showrooms around the globe, and we are still waiting for the German manufacturer to attach a price tag to the beast.

We expect more information about the craziest 911 vehicle to date in the following months.

For those interested in what video game the sports car launched alongside of, Forza Motorsport 7 is the game, and it looks stunning. We can’t wait to get or hands on a copy and race our way up Jebel Hafeet.

Dubicars.com has new Porsche 911 and used Porsche 911 for sale in Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi.
