2018 Toyota Camry detailed before summer time launch

Scheduled to launch this Summer in select regions, the 2018 Toyota Camry has been detailed with a fresh look, new interior options and a fair few mechanical changes. Entering its eighth generation, the model is based on the TNGA modular platform which it shares with the Prius and C-HR.

With its new platform covered by a mild refresh, 2018 Camry models are 30% stiffer and ride on a 4.8 cm longer wheelbase compared to last years model resulting increased interior space.

Inside, Toyota’s new Entune 3.0 infotainment system illuminates the dashboard with various media options available including navigation, Bluetooth and in some markets, a WiFi hotspot.

Its list of driver assistance features increases to include a front camera, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert and Pre-Collision System.

Two engine options are available for the 2018 Toyota Camry. Base models are equipped with a 2.5-litre four cylinder petrol motor with direct injection and Dual VVT-i with VVT-iE to produce 206 horsepower.

The second option is a V6 3.5-litre motor rated at 301 horses. Both models are equipped with an eight-speed automatic gearbox powering the front wheels.

As of writing, the 2018 Toyota Camry starts at $ 23,495 or AED 86,300 for base models whereas the V6 starts at $ 34,400 or AED 126,351. Hybrid versions of the 2018 Camry start at $ 27,800 or AED 102,109.

Note: It’s unconfirmed when the 2018 Toyota Camry launches in the GCC and try not to get too excited for the V6 as we haven’t seen them in UAE showrooms for some time. You could always import one if you’re desperate.
