2018 Volkswagen Touareg to arrive in the GCC this summer

Now in its third generation, GCC residents who can’t wait to get there hands on the latest VW SUV won’t have to wait that much longer as the 2018 Volkswagen Touareg is set to arrive in the Middle East sooner rather than later.

Inside, the model benefits from a Digital Innovision Cockpit, a first for the German SUV. The package includes a digital cockpit complete with a 12-inch screen. This is complemented with a 15-inch Discover Premium infotainment system with integrated connectivity features and adapts to the driver’s preferences.

As with all new vehicles rolling out, the 2018 Volkswagen Touareg cab be had with a wide range of driver assist features including Lane Keep Assist, Traffic Assist, all-wheel steering wheel, anti-roll bars, heads-up display and night vision.

Said to arrive later this year, Volkswagen has managed to reduce the overall weight by an impressive 106 kg from the total weight. They’ve also extended the overall length and widened the model. Thanks to the increased dimensions, buyers can look forward to a larger interior as cargo space increases from 697 litres to 810 litres.

In Europe, the 2018 Volkswagen Touareg is available with two diesel V6 motors driving each corner. Select markets also offer a V6 petrol engine good for 335 horsepower and will most likely provide power to GCC spec models. There’s also a V8 diesel and the China market will receive an exclusive hybrid drivetrain.

Residents of the Middle East can book their 2018 Volkswagen Touareg from May.
