It seems manufacturers just can’t wait for the Paris Motor Show next month. Scheduled to be unveiled during the event, the 2019 Hyundai i30N Fastback has been revealed and will still be on show early next month.
Echoing the i30 N hot hatch, expect the rear, of course, the Fastback features the signature N Grille and front bumper, black side sills and red highlights. The rear end continues the trend with a unique rear diffuser, dual exhaust pipes and a gloss-black spoiler.
The interior is filled with red accents and stitching highlighting the air vents, gear lever, steering wheel and seats. The dimensions of the cabin are identical to the standard i30 Fastback with luggage capacity capped at 450 litres which can be expanded to 1,351 litres with the rear seats folded flat.
Via the steering wheel, drivers can not only control the media system but can choose between five drive modes; Eco, Normal, Sport, N and N Custom.
The 2019 Hyundai i30N Fastback can be had with two infotainment systems with one being a standard 8-inch display unit with rear-view camera assist and Bluetooth connectivity and the other being an 8-inch screen with navigation. Both can be had with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration and a unique N mode application with customisable parameters for the engine, Rev matching, Performance Package and exhaust sound settings.
On the safety front, the Fastback comes with Hyundai SmartSense which includes a range of the latest safety tech. Forward collision-avoidance, high beam assist, lane keeping assist and driver attention warning. Intelligent speed limit warning is available as an optional extra.
As for the engine, only one unit is available in two flavours, as the 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder generates 248 horsepower in standard guise and 272 hp in the optional performance guise.
With that said, the 2019 Hyundai i30N Fastback launches from 0-100 km/h in 6.4 seconds, and 6.1 with the performance pack.
