2019 Toyota Avalon teased before Detroit Motor Show

As 2017 comes to an end, as does the flurry of incredible motor shows. There’s no time for a break for automotive giants as the next big motor show is less than a month away; and just before the doors open, the 2019 Toyota Avalon is one of many new vehicles heading to Detroit on the 13th of January.

From the single teaser image provided, the 2019 Toyota Avalon will sport an all-new front end with redesigned LED headlights, an enlarged front grille, vertical air intakes and a new muscular hood.

What lies beneath remains a mystery although sources say the new Avalon rides on the TNGA platform which is also utilised by the 2018 Camry. We should see the return of the 3.5-litre V6 driving the front axle and generating 301 horsepower and 361 Nm of torque.

Rumours are circulating a hybrid drivetrain could be available sooner rather than later. This variant would introduce a 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol motor paired with a single electric motor to produce a combined 208 horses.

2019 Toyota Avalon features

Besides looking forward to the power units, we can look forward to a wide range of Toyota Safety Sense systems. This should include a pre-collision warning system with pedestrian detection, automatic high beam assist and lane departure warning system plus additional systems.

We can also expect plenty of creature comfort options including Bluetooth connectivity, power seats and keyless start. We’ll be able to deliver a clearer picture come January 13, 2018.
