Unveiled a few weeks ago in Asia, the all-new 2019 Toyota Hiace is now on sale in the UAE. Now in its sixth generation, the popular van gets a fresh look and a range of features including the Toyota Saftey Sense package.
Measuring in longer compared to the outgoing model, the 2019 Haice sports a new protruding nose instead of a flat one. Not only does this allow easy access to the engine, but it also reduces the heat and vibration for the drive and front passenger inside the cabin.
The new nose also makes the new Hiace safer.
Gone is the 2.7-litre i4 for 2019 and in its place is a new 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine that drives the rear wheels of the 2019 Toyota Hiace. Rated at 277 hp, it marks the return of the V6 which was discontinued in 2004.
In select countries including Saudi Arabia, a 2.8-litre 174 hp turbo-diesel is also available.
A 6-speed manual transmission is standard on all models apart from the high-roof commuter where a 6-speed automatic gearbox can be fitted instead.
Pricing for the 2019 Toyota Hiace starts at AED 103,900 for the manual regular-roof panel van and tops out at AED 142,900 for the automatic high-roof commuter variant.
