Mercedes-AMG GT, the German automaker’s high-performance Grand Tourer, now gets a second-generation update. The 2024 AMG GT is revealed in two guises: AMG GT 63 and AMG GT 55. Both are powered by the same 4.0-litre Twin-Turbo V8 engine that powers the SL Roadster. The second-gen coupe is now much closer to the Roadster as Mercedes said it would be at its launch last year.
2024 Mercedes-AMG GT 4Matic+
The coupe gets the second-gen update 8 years after its initial launch in 2015. For now, the AMG GT will be a 2-door coupe with an optional 2+2 seating option. Also, Mercedes-Benz has spun a new series for the AMG GT coupe in its portfolio after the SLS, the first generation of the two‑door GT, the GT 4‑door Coupé and the SL Roadster.
2024 Mercedes-AMG GT 4Matic+: Performance
The 2024 AMG GT uses a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine coupled to a 9-speed gearbox with a wet starter clutch. The torque converter is replaced for reduced weight and improved response.

The AMG GT coupe also features active aero that includes: vertical slats and horizontal louvres near the intake and a retractable rear spoiler.
2024 Mercedes-AMG GT 4Matic+: Drivetrain
The power is sent to all four wheels as standard and offers continuous variability from 50:50 all-wheel drive to pure rear-wheel drive. The coupe also has a rear-wheel steering feature. The driver gets to choose from six modes: Slippery, Comfort, Sport, Sport+, Individual, and Race. The AMG GT is also equipped with a limited-slip differential and a Variable Torque Distribution system for maximum traction around the bends.
The AMG Active Ride Control system on the GT uses active hydraulic elements to replace conventional mechanical anti-roll bars. The system also has adaptive shock absorbers with hydraulic connections on compression and tension sides. There is also a hydraulic lift system for the front axle that raises by 30mm, and it uses GPS technology to save positions and automatically raise the front end of the car.

The 2024 AMG GT continues to be an aggressively-styled mile-muncher with a long bonnet hiding the beast lying underneath. The signature pan-america grille with an AMG badge continues to be the highlight upfront.

2024 Mercedes-AMG GT 4Matic+: Interiors
