Dubai Police add 2016 Nissan’s to their fleet

Around the world, Police cars aren’t head-turning vehicles such as Vauxhall Astra’s, Dodge Chargers and various SUV’s. Here in the UAE, our Police Force does it a little different. Already filled with ultra luxurious vehicles, their latest addition includes one of the Middle East’s favourite brands.

No, it’s not Toyota. However, an iconic SUV is joining the already impressive fleet. If you haven’t guessed already, Nissan is the latest to join in. Unveiled Tuesday, four new Nissan automobiles were handed to over to commander-in-chief Major General Khamis Mattar Al Muzainah by Khalid Abdul Wahed Al Rostamani, Vice Chairman of A.W Rostamani Group.

“The Dubai Police force has always sought, through the introduction of its fleet of supercars, to enhance the security of the Emirate.” said the commander-in-chief during the handover.

The new addition includes no less than two Nissan GTR’s and two Nissan Patrol. Exact specifications are unknown as police cars vehicles are slightly turned to go that extra mile. Underneath the GTR’s bonnet is no doubt the potent V6 3.6-litre twin turbocharged engine and the Patrol features a V8 5.6-litre motor.

The new additions join an already stellar line-up which includes an Aston Martin One-77, Bugatti Veyron, Mercedes-Benz SLS, BMW i8, Porsche Panamera and many other luscious models. As more and more supercars start rolling of Italy, England and Germany, Dubai’s incredible squadron of Police units will expand quickly, which it has been doing so since 2013.

Besides from deterring reckless drivers driving at unsafe speeds, the entire fleet, prove massively popular with residents and tourists alike. All show up at various tourist hotspots scattered around the Emirate, most notably the Burj Khalifa, Dubai Marina and Jumeira Beach plus many others.

Dubai is not the only Emirate in the UAE to add super cars to their fleet; Abu Dhabi added a Lykan Hypersport, a Nissan GTR just to name a few.
