Did Ford slip up and reveal a Competition GT?

With the 2017 Ford GT not on the roads yet, did the American brand accidently reveal information on a possible Competition GT model on the Horizon?

Briefly scanning the owners manual, two examples of the Competiton GT are referred to on page 42 and 149 respectively. Number 42 refers to the key having no button to open the boot automatically. Instead, it has to be manually opened as it will be bolted into place with race inspired hood pins.

Page 149 refers to the Competition GT model not utilising gas struts found in standard models and inside will feature release hatches and a prop stick to keep the engine covering up to save additional weight.

With this in mind, Ford has confirmed that are to build 1,000 units over the next four years after being extended due to high demand from customers.

The potential Competition GT has yet to be confirmed by Ford themselves, however, seeing as this information is shown in the manual and wasn’t leaked by the brand, an announcement of the new model is imminent before 2017 comes to an end.

What can we expect from the model? Lower production numbers are a given as is an increase in power. Maybe a unique set of colour palettes and extra flair to the vehicles already extravagant exterior along with exclusive badging and trim pieces to mark the difference.

2017 Ford GT sports cars are still a few months off street legal use, in the meantime, we’ve got new Ford GT and used Ford GT for sale in Dubai.
