Free parking in Dubai and Abu Dhabi during Eid Al Adha

During the Eid Al Adha holidays, those who are planning a big day out with family and friends in both Dubai and Abu Dhabi won’t have to pay for parking in both Emirates from the 19th of August to the 24th of August.

Dubai’s Road and Transport Authority (RTA) and Abu Dhabi’s Department of Transport (DoT) have announced that all public car parks will be free during the Eid Holidays. Multi-level parking structures are exempt, however; and motorists will have to pay to use these facilities.

Parking tariffs will revert to normal on the 25th of August.

During the Eid Holidays, drivers are requested not to park their cars in prohibited areas or disrupt traffic around the Emirates.

As for Sharjah, in certain areas of the Emirate, motorists will have to pay for parking on an hourly basis. These areas include the Bird and Animal Market in Al Jubail, Buhairah Corniche in Al Majaz 1, 2 and 3, Al Hosn Boulevard in Al Shuwahain and Al Sheyoukh, and Souq Al Markazi in Al Majaz.

Other areas not mentioned will have free parking on Arafat Day and during the Eid Al Adha festive holiday.

While it may come as a surprise to some, in March 2018, Sharjah Municipality removed free parking in Sharjah on weekends and during public holidays in popular areas as numerous complaints were submitted referring to cars being parked in these locations for lengthy periods of time.
