Has Infiniti dropped the ball on the 2018 QX80?

Reading any news on the first of April should be taken lightly. This didn’t stop Infiniti from dropping a teaser for the upcoming New York Motor show which may have given away the 2018 QX80 SUV.

What can we learn from this single teaser image? For starters, you may notice the windshield is rather large. That’s due to the A-Pillar being blacked out on the left side at least which gives the SUV a menacing look.

Then there are the new LED headlights inspired by the recent QX50 crossover and other QX concept models. Both the front bumper and grille have been tweaked to give off an aggressive look, and upon further inspection of the grille, the brand’s logo appears to be backed by LED lights too.

While it is unconfirmed if this is indeed the 2018 QX80, it seems unlikely the premium brand would launch another larger SUV.  It could also be the 2019 model.

Current QX80 models are based off the much loved Nissan Patrol and has been in production since 2011. Back then, it adopted the QX56 badge before 2014 where it changed to QX80 while receiving a facelift.

Infiniti is expected to reveal the SUV on the 11th of April 2017, just one day before the show starts. We’ll wait until then to get official confirmation of the 2018 QX80 along with more information about the SUV.

On the look out for a luxury SUV from Japan? We’ve got new Infiniti QX80 and used Infiniti QX80 for sale in Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi.
